  1. I am probably going to do a full color change vinyl wrap on my car. Can this stuff be used on Vinyl? (Avery Dennison Gloss Blue)
  2. I fgure there has to be a better way with detailing products... Thats why I am asking...
  3. Scotch Brite Pad and Soft Scrub is what their website says.....
  4. Just installed a new SS Sink. What do you recommend for clean up and protection? Also, there are some very minor scratches that would be nice to get out. Thanks,
  5. I bought the Porter Cable because everything I heard was that its very easy to use and great for beginners. There were some complaints about excess vibrations. Thats probably true but I have nothing to compare it against. My paint was in good shape to start but I did have some water spots that were not going to come out by hand. They are gone now. I think the car looks amazing. Very deep shine with a really nice mirror finish. I am glad I bought it.
  6. I knew the H20 wouldnt last as long but only realized that after my Adams order was shipped. I should have gotten the black pad for the LPS. I wanted to get it done this weekend so I went with what I had. After the winter, when I do this again, I will go that route.
  7. I finally decided to go to the next step in detailing my cars and bought the Porter Cable kit that Adams offers. I got a lot of advice from people here on the forums and everyone was very helpful. My 2016 Civic got the full treatment this weekend. Strip wash Clay bar PCP with the Porter Cable PFP with the Porter Cable H2O GG American paste wax The car came out great. Thanks everyone for the advice. Heres a coupld pics and a video.
  8. It is on. Not a big Cub's fan but I'd like to see them win it.
  9. *Tape off emblems and window trim or just stay away as much as possile? *Do entire car with correcting polish then switch to finishing polish or do a small section with correcting then switch to finishing and repeat till car is done?
  10. I just watched that video. Pretty convincing.
  11. Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the advice and encouragement.
  12. Thanks guys. I should have been more clear. I know Americana is a hand wax. My question is.. Should I use the PC for wax application with a wax designed for machine applications?
  13. Hey everyone. I have been using Adam's on my cars for a while now and absolutely love the products. I have never used a machine polisher but am thinking I am ready to start learning. Adams seems to makes it very easy with this kit..PORTER CABLE 7424XP POLISHER BASICS KIT. My car is basically brand new and the paint is in good shape. I have some water spots but no swirls. I have also detailed two friends cars by hand and have had good results. Both cars were also basically new and the paint was in great shape. I'd like to be able to correct a car that had a some light swirls or scratches in the future though. Will this kit get me on my way to doing that? I dont plan on making this a business. Just looking to get to the next level of results from where I have been. In this order? *Strip wash, polisher with correcting polish, polisher with finishing polish, seal, wax? *Seal by hand with H20GG? *Americana by hand or should the wax be applied with the polisher? Thanks for any info and guidance.
  14. Picked up this car last week. It was apparant the car sat outside for a while at the dealership. Very rough paint to the touch. These are the steps I took to get it protected and looking good. Strip wash with Adams shampoo and All Purpose Cleaner. Clay bar. Revive polish. Spray sealant. Americana wax.
  15. I was able to spnd some time detailing the BRZ yesterday. Strip wash Clay bar Revive LPS Americana... Car looks good however, there are some scratched areas that shouldnt be there on a new car. To have any chance at making those areas better will require someone with more know how than I have. Heres some pics..
  16. Definitely wasnt going to be able to bear that one. Interesting to find out this is somewhat common.
  17. Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the advice and comments.
  18. Thanks Beemer. I know at some point I will bite the bullet and get a polisher.
  19. Thanks GXPaycheck. None of the scratches are that bad then. They appear smooth if testing with a fingernail.
  20. I have been reading all the advice here on the forums. Really great info from everyone. In doing so, I think I have a plan of action. Please tweak what I have in mind if you think I have things out of order or are not needed. Strip wash with a couple ounces of APC in my two bucket wash. Clay bar Revive hand polish LPS H2o GG Americana wax Thoughts?
  21. Just got a new 2016, Red, Subaru BRZ. I told the dealership not to do anything with the paint such as wax or detail the car as I would do it myself. The car looked good sitting outside on the day of delivery but, it was overcast and there was some spotty rain in the area. I took the car to where I work, (aircraft hangar with very good flourescent lighting) and washed it. As I was drying it i noticed some smearing and marks in the paint that were not budging. I stopped what I Was doing and drove the car back to the dealership. They held the car for almost two weeks trying to figure out what to do. The Subaru rep for our area came down and looked at the car and thought it was bad. He said what he thinks happened was when it was shipped from Japan they wrapped some panels in protective plastic sheets prior to the clear coat being completely dry. The Solution was to send the car to a local detailer for wet sand and buff. To me, that seemed very aggressive but when the car came back it looked a lot better than I thought it would. There was no guarantee ordering a new car would provide any different results as this was a Subaru error in how they do things. I have had the car for a couple weeks and have washed and waxed it. It looks good but, there are some areas that have some visible scratches if you are in the correct light. I am wondering what you guys would do at this point? Seek out a local detailer to fix it? Try and fix it myself? I am a hand wax, polisher and have zero experience with power equipment for buff and wax. To 95% of the public this car looks amazing but, I know people on here and people who swear by Adams products understand the need for amazing shine and depth in a paint job.
