H2O GG after Wash and Wax timing
Performance Auto Detailing replied to Erictski's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
He hasn't mentioned using any waxes... Wash and Wax has no wax additive, it is synthetic silica -
Wash & Wax Hard at Work
Performance Auto Detailing replied to BRZN's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Adam actually said 4 months.... hard to imagine the Wash & Wax being that durable when Guard and Gloss is a 2-3 month max product. Can't speak for it yet as I haven't gotten a chance to try it though! -

Awesome, keep us updated on the durability, I'm very interested in that! -

Good looking beading. Was the Wash & Wax the only LSP on the vehicle? Or was there another sealant or wax working "behind the scenes?" -
REVIEW: New Strip Wash
Performance Auto Detailing replied to TheWolf's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
Claying will still not completely remove a sealant. Claying is very mildly abrasive which is why it can be done without scratching a vehicle. A light polishing is the only true way to fully remove a sealant. I'll test for myself if you don't have time to do it - but there will be a difference. Hopefully I can find some time to do a test for everyone. -
REVIEW: New Strip Wash
Performance Auto Detailing replied to TheWolf's topic in Product Polls, Feedback, and Company Input
I think a good test would be to use a finishing polish on a finishing pad on one side of the hood and compare the beading/sheeting properties of each side. Also could test doing an IPA wipe-down of the hood and see what happens (after the strip wash). A lot of these "strip wash" products have surfactants that mask the water repellency properties instead of truly removing them. A good sealant is not easily "chemically" removed. Abrasion is usually needed. -
few questions on adams products?
Performance Auto Detailing replied to tonymix17's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
1. Leather and Interior Cleaner is what you want if your interior has any soiling and needs true cleaning. It can then be followed up with Leather Conditioner for protection. Interior Detailer is best for maintenance cleaning, when there are smudges or light dirt that just to be "tidied up". 2. Deep Wheel Cleaner's name was changed to just Wheel Cleaner. The formula has been improved as well. Wheel Cleaner is an awesome product but is not necessary each time you clean your wheels. If you use a sealant on the wheels, simple car shampoo will clean them with ease. 3. H20 Guard and Gloss (spray sealant) realistically lasts around 2 months. Some can get slightly longer or slightly less due to a number of conditions. -

Waterless question
Performance Auto Detailing replied to Dwhite0960's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
You can yes, but it's kind of an expensive product to use as a presoak when a bottle of diluted rinseless is so cheap. There are other good uses for it that maybe you should try: Door jamb wipe down, interior wipe down, glass cleaner replacement for interior etc. -
Paint correction with Quantum Paint Sealant???
Performance Auto Detailing replied to Milt IV's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
Unfortunately as others have stated, this is just a dealership money making scheme. It is nothing more than a sealant that they likely take 20 minutes to apply before you drive off in your new vehicle. I've seen dealers charge over a grand for the service. What you're paying for is a warranty that is typically only good if you take it in for maintenance. Hopefully you didn't pay for it, but if you did: my suggestion is to just strip it off and use your own products as they'll be far better. -
Dealer decided to wash my car...
Performance Auto Detailing replied to SJC96GT's question in Washing, Drying, and Decontamination
Like a ceramic coating? That will be fine. Sealant most likely fine. Wax could definitely have been affected however. Not that it matters though if you have both a ceramic coating and sealant. -

Foam gun solution gallon
Performance Auto Detailing replied to hemi1300's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
I've tried this and it just doesn't foam as well as mixing each batch as you go, maybe it's because I tend to use hot water in the foam gun. The hot water definitely gets better suds. To answer your question, if you have a 32oz foam gun just multiply how much soap you put in that times 4. Or a 16oz foam gun multiply times 8. -
Paint Sealant on New Stingray
Performance Auto Detailing replied to bceagleace's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
An IPA wipe down should always be done prior to waxing or sealing the paint to insure a proper bond and max durability - whether it is post polishing or post claying. It takes 5 minutes and is well worth it. Prior to polishing however is not totally necessary. -
