Americana Question

Brad519

Question

This has probably been asked and answered so I apologize for yet another APW question.

I applied FMP, RP, & SMW back in early July. Since then I have used BSG and recently applied a coat of BW.

I ordered some APW this weekend and when I get ready to apply it is it going to be ok to just go over what is already on the paint or should I strip it and start over?

I'm sure it will be ok to go over but I guess I'm wondering if I would get better results by stripping then going FMP, Revive (extra pop) and APW.

It's a black Chevy truck...well I guess you would have seen that in the sig.

Thanks for any and all advice.

It's kinda funny cause just a few short months ago I used turtle wax car wash, walmart microfibers, Meguiars Detail Spray and Wax and thought I had a shiny truck. Adams Rocks :patriot:

I think that I would go ahead and give it a coat of American. Next time if you use FMP you won't need Revive. Revive is more of a hand polish and FMP is a machine polish.

If your paint starts to look cloudy its time to strip and start over.

I added the Revive step cause Junkman said that was his "secret step" for black paint

But I'll just throw some APW on it and go from there.

Thanks

Fed Ex should be here Thursday. I have to work this weekend :(

So it will be Monday before I can add the Americana. I said I wouldn't spend that much on wax but I'm so hooked on everything else and everyone here seems to LOVE it I figured I'd go for it. I just hope the weather stays nice next week.

You won't be disappointed! I waited a while before purchasing APW, but it was a great buy and will last a long, long time (even on your big truck).

Oh, and don't forget to remove the paper between the pad and the wax. (ask me how I know! :loser: )
