NightMare Silverado
I have owned a few Ka-Bar's and they are always of high quality and have never disappointed me like most knives end up doing by bending/breaking the tip of flat spotting a spot on the blade if dropped. I was in the market for a new knife to leave in the truck or carry when I go hiking/beach/fishing and decided to order this this is the Ka-Bar Tactool it's 1.3 lbs can be used as a hammer, prybar, cord cutter, machete, general emergency knife. should be here by the 6'th and if anyone wants one the cheapest I found was amazon from 77+ shipping everywhere else they average 100+ The downsides is it seems the folding knives are outsourced and the fixed blades are US made. sixt9stang
Looks like a nice knife. Pretty heavy. How long is it?
NightMare Silverado
12 1/2 inches by the description. It should be here tomorrow and I'm pretty excited to test it out... yup I'm funny with knives like this.

NightMare Silverado
I've carried a kershaw my dad gave me for about a year now before that I had(still have) a smith&wessin HRT folder for years still holds a great edge and opens as fast as a switch. The Ryan
I have owned a couple kershaw knives as well... I always end up with a benchmade clipped onto my right pocket Micro Tech makes a great quality knife as well, but their knives are just too pricey for daily carry/use. NightMare Silverado
Ive heard great things about benchmade knives but everytime I end up with 100$ to spend on a knife I get a fixed blade. My most expensive "folding" knife is a butterfly stlye tripple lock folder called the black rock hunter. I'll try to save for a benchmade next time around. The Ryan
My pride and joy is my Skirmish. My daily carry is a Presidio. Great quality, made in the USA.. Lifetime "Lifesharp" sharpening ($5.00 for postage), I returned my skirmish for a small chip in the blade, they replaced it free of charge. Great customer service. I don't have much use for fixed blades as I'm not a avid fisher/hunter, but if their fixed blade line is as a good as their folders, they won't dissapoint. NightMare Silverado
Got my knife today and this is a HEAVY tool. It was kinda dull upon arrival so I sharpened it then went and chopped some wool to test it out. It cuts ok but it's more of a tool to chop, smash, break, pry ect. Overall I'm happy with it tho and consider it worth the 80 I paid.

eric@thompsonracing.us
I just got a Ka-bar for Christmas. Great looking piece. I have seen a lot of good reviews. Simply a defense tool, so not sure if I'll ever truely test it out! I carry a Benchmade everyday and agree, it is the most durable knife I've ever owned and I use it at least 10 times a day, every day. Definitely worth the price. It's cheaper in the long run to buy a quality knife. When I'm in our Manufacturing suite, I carry a Craftsman (Sheffield) box knife. They're great because I break tips off frequently and the blades are easy to replace.
