Which applicator to apply MSW by hand?

Joshman

Question

I know this has been answered in a million other threads, and the search is still leaving me high and dry. But what is the best applicator to apply MSW by hand? Lots of nooks and crannies on the front end of the Charger and the PC won't get in there well enough. I used the red Americana Hex grip, but it didn't seem to spread out very well and drink in a lot of the product, even with priming with detail spray. Maybe that is the best one and I am just being picky (which is highly likely) because I am so used to how the SMW goes on with the PC. This will be helpful for when my winter wheels arrive too so I can get a layer or two of MSW on them. :D TIA!

Do you have the microfiber applicator pads? Those would be my choice.

I also had a little issue putting SMW on by hand. I just dealt with it.

One other thing, you shouldn't prime the pads with DS when waxing. (I asked Dylan about that early this week and he said no DS priming)

Oh I will, I think the longest part of this process is waiting for MSW to cure. :) Second coat goes on the front end in the morning. Then I'll get a full wash in Tomorrow evening or Sunday morning. Then it's time for pictures! :)

Thanks guys for the quick response, I will see if I like how MSW applies with the blue MF applicator in the morning.

Dylan,

I was doing some looking the other day at some websites that resell detailing stuff, there is a company that took their 3" Pads (like Adam's has for the drill but smaller) and made a "Hand Applicator Adapter". It's basically a black piece of plastic with a strap on the backside.

Any chance of getting something like that and bring back the Black 4" Pad?

No need really when we already have the hex grips in 2 different colors that do the same thing. Another option for waxing would just seem to be unnecessary. We have the americana apps now so they can compress under the lids, and the standard yellow hex for butter.

Plus a piece with velcro and plastic manufacturing wouldn't be nearly as cost effective as the foam apps.
