Drying and micro mar

jpu471

Question

After washing the car, foam gun, 2 bucket etc.etc. and using DS when I dry with the great whites I get these swathes of micro scratches they are easy to polish out but what a pain after every wash. The towels are clean and soft is there a way to dry without imparting those scratches ?

This is what I use...it sounds like a freight train but it knocks the water off easily. Plus its great to have this time of year in the yard:rockon:

There is no way to avoid micro scratches if you use only towels to dry..

Pretty much after every wash. I have to wash in the morning due to no garage and I was using the leaf blower to get most of the water but the neighbors were a bit upset. So it is possible the GW can micro mar? Even if I am doing everything right? I can accept if its not just me.

Are you pressing very hard into the paint surface? Are the towels stored out in the open in a garage? I am trying to figure out where the abrasiveness is coming from. I also wonder if it might be time for a little vinegar and water soak for the towels, as I believe that hard water can build up when we dry towels that are washed in hard water. Unlike most of us, there ARE places in the US with naturally soft water... just not SoCal.
