MrVette83
I'm probably gonna get some dates off here but a few of my favorites from that era were: Dirty Laundry-Don Henley Mary Jane's Last Dance-Tom Petty(Or was this in the early 90s?) Hungry Like the Wolf-Duran Duran Centerfield or The Old Man Down the Road-John Fogerty Abracadabra-Steve Miller Band(Late 70s?) Jenny's Song(867-5309)-Tommy Tutone Take on Me-A Ha Shout-Tears for Fears Cars-Gary Numan Don't Stand so close to me-The Police That's about it off the top of my head. I'm anal about music and wanna point out two errors above. Chewy posted "I want my MTV" by Dire Straights. The song is actually Money for Nothing. Also 1anonly labeled I love a rainy night being by Eddie Money, it is actually by Eddie Rabbit. Not trying to be a jerk or act like I know more about music than either of you. But just wanted to clarify in the event the OP wanted to find either of those songs to add to a playlist.

MrVette83
It comes up "I want my MTV" on my iTunes. For whatever reason... Mine is unfortunately the clean version of the song too... Oh I always hated that version. One of the first cassettes I ever owned had that song on it. Then when CDs became the thing my parents bought me a CD with the song on it and it was the short version. I sold it to a friend and found the disc with the long unedited one. I can still remember the first time I heard the song, the quiet whispers leading into the amazing guitar lick. I was only about 7 or 8 then, but man I knew it sure was cool to play air guitar to:jester:.
Nordgrey
Wow, not hard to tell I grew up a head banger that also listened to Bach, Mozart etc. I recognize almost NONE of those tunes.......LOL

I was born in 84 so I'm more a child of the 90s. But I love all forms of music, with the exception of scream rock or whatever you call what groups like Insane Clown Posse play. I have a 6 disk CD changer in my truck and it currently has a Dierks Bentley bluegrass CD, Ben Folds, Ray Lamontagne, Bond, Fort Minor and John Mayer CD in it. I have some pretty diverse tastes. Marylander
I'll probably embarrass myself here, but I liked all kinds of crazy 80s stuff, including all those funky/goofy/one-off hits. Prince "Kiss" Foreigner "Juke Box Hero" Tiffany "I think we're alone now" One Night in Bangkok (singer unknown to me) And the entire Beastie Boys "Licensed to Ill" album

JPEGXP
One Night In Bangkok is Murray Head. I think I recognize every song on all these lists, and I'm only 29. I'm gonna try to add a few. Turn Me Loose - Lover Boy Mad World - Tears For Fears (might actually be early 90's) Putting On The Ritz - Taco Forever Young - Alphaville I Want To Kiss You All Over - Exile (might be 70's) Depeche Mode, basically anything from them. Twisted Sister - Stay Hungry (the entire album) The Promise - When In Rome I would be able to come up with many more, but my desktop with 150GB's of music is currently dead, my poor 24' IMAC is just a desk ornament these days. JPEGXP
I love all music, and thanks to my family being into all types of music I was exposed to everything at a young age. When I turned 5 or 6 my brother gave me Dark Side Of The Moon and Skeletons In The Closet for my birthday on cassette. I got myself into Styx because I liked the cover of Mr. Roboto I was only 4ish at the time. My sisters got me into U2 and Simple Minds as well.
