Question

Adam's Improved Dual Action Backing Plate - MADE IN THE USA! :pc:

We've taken our premium dual action polisher backing plate and made it even better. Its still one of the only units available thats made here in the USA with quality and performance in mind.

So how did we improve one of the best backing plates on the market? Simple, we reduced the weight and increased the flexibility. Our new plate is a full 1/4" slimmer and far more flexible than its predecessor. The new, lower profile design and improved flexibility allows the backing plate to hug those awkward curves and body lines better than ever before.

The reduced weight also equals a reduction in vibration making extended use of the Porter Cable a little easier on your hands and wrist. Still perfectly balanced and constructed of high quality, durable, materials, this is simply the highest quality backing plate made today, guaranteed!

Whats even better is we have reduced the price $5 to $24.95!! Ain't progress wonderful!!

How big is it?

Still the same OD as the previous ones... just a hair over 5.75" so it works exactly the same with all our pads. The height of the plate has been reduced 1/4" down from 5/8" on the old one to 3/8". Its a pretty slick plate... very nice update. I've been putting it thru its paces and it certainly hugs curves better due to the increased flexibility.

Now why couldnt it have been released last week? IMO if your going to release products, you should make it all at once, instead of a week apart. I just ordered the new ssr and some other stuff. This is something Id be interested in as well. It would have been nice to get it then to save shipping on a second order.

You know what would have been REALLY cool?? If you'd have molded in a timing line on the side. How many backing pads have that?

Of course I just mark mine now just so I can see it moving a bit better.

Love the idea, unfortunately tooling for stuff like that gets expensive and asking a company to make a product like that pulls them too far from their preset standards. A thinner plate just meant a different setup to press them, to get a mark or notch would've meant we'd have to order a HUGE quantity to get it done... more than our little outfit could afford or justify... but maybe thats a TO DO item when we're big enough to justify it and redesign the plates again in a few years.
