In a few of the shots you see what looks like a small pickup. It is a Maloo and it has the same LS3 motor they put in the Camaro and Vette with a few mods. Here are a few picks from this years Hot Rod Power Tour. They shipped in three of them just for it.

My sole reason for wanting to get married and having kids was to get a G8 now that its gone I'm happy to stay unmarried. Lol. If they brought it back I'd consider changing my mind again.

Down here they are called a ute. Maloo is the brand name for HSV's ute.

Looks like a photo shop job IMO.

I'd probably buy another one I suppose... I want BT, GPS and don't want to have to install an auto rear view mirror in it, like I did with this one.

I don't get the reason you have to have a family to own one.

I was just dating when I got mine...

Pity Ford Australia doesn't send over the Falcon XR6 Turbo (same as mine) or the FPV (Ford's version of HSV) F6 (Turbo 6) GT and GT-P. the GT and GT-P use the 5liter Coyote V8 motor from the new Mustang with a super charger.

Didn't realise you guys got the wagon up there.

I had an 07 Commodore before it was taken back. I had 21 faults over 11 months - the service lady called my car a 'Friday car. Pre October 07 they are known as submarines - they missed a weld in the drivers area and the cabin would fill up with water (the Monaro also had this problem) They had to remove the seats and carpet on mine. There was a leak in the rear battery area, when it rained it discharged the battery. Also the electrics are shoddy - intermittent problems with the keys, ventilation etc. They got the parts from Asia instead of Australia. I believe these were sorted by April 08.

I still miss it, I'm a big guy and there was plenty of room. My Ford Falcon is a large car but not very well thought out. The seat is too high, the steering wheel too low and I hit my head when I enter or exit the car.

Sadly we did not. That was a limited edition the sold in Oz once they canceled the G8 to use up the extra G8 Parts. If we had the wagon option here there would be one in my driveway.

I want the new one that they're saying is coming... Unfortunately it's not coming to the States... Supposed to have the 5.0 under the hood now though...

I would look into a falcon as well. I just want a RWD sedan or wagon with a V8 that is not a hemi.

I remember now, they put them on the SS-V. The V series is the upmarket version of the SS.
