swirlparanoid
hello newb here i was watching a junkman video and he brought to my attention that a pc should only be used with a 5 inch pad and on the adams website i only see 7.5 inch pads is the 7.5 all they make? or am i missing something here lol
mc2hill
Are you sure he said a 5 inch pad and not a 5 inch counter weight? As you said Adam's only sells the 7.5 inch pads and the 4 inch Focus pads. However there is often confusion regarding the best counter weight to use with these pads - the 5" or the 6". The counter weights are not 5 inches, just made for 5" sanding pads.

rwisejr
Well with the first Gen PC's they were found to be more effective with 5.5 in pads But with the second gen polishers that have substantially more power this is reallyt not an issue.Plus the Adam's polishes are designed to be used with their pads and PC combos. And are proven to be very effective. rwisejr
Ah,that was a 1st Gen PC.Thanks for clarifying Ron:cheers: No problem anytime. Plus with the first gen PC's you really would only have the issue if you ventured outside of the ADAM's system. Such as trying other pads and products. If you stick with and follow the system you will attain the results as the were intended.
mc2hill
here's the video he starts talking about it at 1:55 http://www.youtube.com/user/Junkman2000#p/u/62/4SDC3oYRaG8 Here is what AJ posted in the thread that goes along with this video: In this video, I go over important information about the PC. If you are using the Adam's Second Genration pads, I stress the importance of making sure that you have the correct counter weight installed (for 5" pads). Although the Adam's pads measure 7" across, they are designed to fit the 5" backing plate. Thus you must ensure that you have the 5" counter weight along with the 5" backing plate to use with the Adam's Second Generation pads. Here is a link to that thread - Junkmans How To Restore Your Finish - The Videos http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2386 Hope that helps clear up the confusion. Junkman2008
Thank you Michael. I stress to people all the time to read the threads where my videos are posted instead of just watching them at You Tube. If you don't read the threads, you miss important information and updates.
