Perez

Question

I got a failry new car with what looks like a plant overspray. Did a dawn pre wash. And then tried scrubbing the hell out of it with clay/detail spray with no luck whatsoever would not come off. Then i tried some apc in a small area with a quick wipe off and it took it off. Now my question is how would i go about using apc all over vehicle to remove ? Or should i not do this and try a different approach ? Thanks allot

Try and post some pics, that way we can get a better visual of what your working with.

You shouldn't use apc, and then just wipe it off. If you get any apc on the paint, I'd suggest washing it off thoroughly. It could discolor.

Also what plant over spray are we talking about...paint over spray or like debri from a factory/plant from an industrial area?

not totally sure ill see if i can get a cellphone pic but that is all i would be able to get. I used a dab of apc on a microfiber and clean it off with water then detail spray.

You may be using too much lubrication when claying. Clay should remove overspray.

I have to agree with Bill.

If you have the Porter Cable, I would try a pass with the white pad and fine machine polish, this may be just abrasive enough to get the gunk off.

i agree with bill to i havent had anything like this b4 and it does evemtually come off with clay just takes about 30 min in a 2x2 INCH area. yea **** that. gonna try the pc and pads to see if that may take it out and polish at same time.

I too had a fender with what I know was overspray on it. The door behind that fender had been painted just the week prior. Clay didn't take it off. SHR followed with Revive both used on a double sided flip pad did the job with some "elbow grease". Mine was just in a small localized spot, a larger area, I agree, break out the PC.

APC is pretty harsh to be rubbing on my paint.
