It's Independence Day Friends!

How fortunate are we to live in the USA? I feel EXTREMELY fortunate, and grateful to the founding fathers of our awesome country...

Today, I was just reading about the accomplishments of Thomas Jefferson...simply mind blowing... He makes me want to jump up on a soap box and shout!

Jefferson:

  • Wrote the Declaration of Independance
  • Served as the Governor of Virginia
  • 3rd President of the United States of America
  • Completed the Louisiana Purchase...
  • Launched the Lewis & Clark Expedition

The list goes on, as he completed law school at a young age, wrote books on many subjects, etc...

What an awesome country, what awesome people who helped form it, and how BADLY we need our politicians today to take a look back....to Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams...

Integrity is needed in today's politicians, as it certainly seems lost now...to big business, greedy politicians, etc...

Let's get IN GOD WE TRUST back into the fabric of our country, currency, and culture. Without him, our country, and people will drift even further the abyss it seems we are drifting today.

This 4th of July, let's remember to look at the label of everything we purchase...and with all of our conviction, avoid cheap imported goods!! Do we really need cheap, disposable everything? Is the American job worth sacrificing for cheap, low priced junk?

On Independence Day, today, I am focused on what made our country great. I should do so more often, but today, I spent some time Googling 'Independence Day,' 'Thomas Jefferson,' and am reminded of the integrity and legitimacy of the great people that helped our county become the greatest country earth.

Let's take today, at least, to consider the history of our country, and stop sending US jobs overseas! What if we all implemented, "MADE IN THE USA," as a family motto??

Happy Independence Day Friends, and God Bless America!

Every time I need a quote about integrity, government or even just a general idea, I search for two men. Twain and Jefferson.

Wether you are an American or just someone who likes common sense, Jefferson will get it done for you.

Have a great Independence Day to all the Adam's addicts in the 50 states! :patriot:

Amen boss. I have my American made flag flying proud today.

I was watching the news today and they had stats that 42% of adults did not know what year we won our independence , and 26% didn't know from what country. Even the news readers were depressed about that.

It's still the best place in the world to live, but we can do better.

Bruce, that is just plane sad, but oh so true. Hope that we get back on track in this country. Many of our young and not so young just know nothing of our great nations past.

HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY EVERYONE. :grouphug:

I try to remember to post this for my American friends each July 4th on the various forums I follow. This was broadcast in 1973. Far too little has changed.

I hope we all take a minute to stop and think about how LUCKY we all are to live in the United States. Thank God, thank a soldier, thank a veteran. Without them all working together, we wouldn't be enjoying all of the freedom that we have and never think about. We are a blessed nation.

Outside my window right now, it sounds like a war zone, but I can rest easy knowing that it's fireworks and not gunfire.

I pray that next 4th of July we are still a free nation...........and that ALL of our troops will be home to enjoy the holiday with us.

God Bless America.
