Diluting?

I've read in these spaces that most dilute Leather & Interior Cleaner and for that matter APC also. Just wondering if anyone would care to share results. My reason for asking is that if they are still effective the why not go the less aggressive/cheaper route.

I don't believe that "most" dilute Leather and Interior Cleaner, maybe a few do. I always use it full strength.

But many do dilute APC depending on the job, usually 50/50 is strong enough.

I dilute APC 50/50 with Distilled Water and use this mixture primarily to pre-treat spots on my Microfiber and Waffle Weave Towels. Otherwise full strength.

LIC gets diluted by being sprayed onto a dampened Red Foam Applicator full strength as I use it.

LIC is MORE than up to the task of cleaning everyday grime diluted 50/50. I use it on all our vehicles that way with NO discernible difference in cleaning. I use tap water. No need to spend the money on distilled.

I dilute my LIC and agree it still has a lot of cleaning power to it. Also makes the product last a bit longer. I only dilute my APC when using it around delicate wheels such as chromed or polished aluminum. Otherwise full strength.

I think it depends on the application. Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner really strips leather down. On nice interior that needs a quick clean, you can dilute the cleaner and not dry out the leather as much. On really dirty leather, you're gonna need all the Leather Cleaner you can.

Just guage the situation.

I dilute APC 1:3 to use on my stripes (to get stubborn bugs off without hurting the vinyl) and to use on my interior pieces. I bought a gallon of it so I have 3 bottles. 2 are full strength, 1 is 1:3.

I also always use bottled water to dilute any product. It probably makes no difference, and is a waste of money, but to be honest, my parents pay for bottled water, so I really don't care.

I often dilute it to cut back on the cleaning strength.

No need to waste the product if I don't need its full cleaning power.

Works well for me.

I actually voiced that question and was told that tap water for the slight dilution is more than fine. We have really good city water here though.

My parents pay for bottled water too. Of course it's at their house and does me no good at mine. :jester:

Oh, our water sucks. Like, they say its good, but it tastes dirty.

I'm only 17, so I get to be a parasite on my parent's bank accounts for another year ;)
