CrawlinTBSS Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Had a customer from a local car forum drop his car off for a exterior only detail. for 17year old paint, it was kind of a pain. last thing car had was about 3 washes in 2 years he said and before that, they wet sanded then waxed it ( EEEKS). Wel i went easy on this one as im a bit new still to machine polishing, and i could tell just by the eye that they wetsanded wayyyy to much. But heres the pics. Car has ALOT, i mean ALOT, of paint chips, and touch up paint, which was very annoying to work around. All in all i liked my outcome, just wasn't happy with the paint on this car. Process: 2 Bucket wash w/ foam gun - APC/Shampoo mixture to strip old wax DS dry off Blow dried Clay bar SHR - 1 set ( 3 cross hatches for a set per panel) FMP - 1 set 4" Focus pads - FMP windows to removed bad water spots SVRT - Tires and trim In and Out Spray - where needed Brilliant Glaze - hand applied Americana - thee finale - 2 coats BEFORES Before - Nice and dusty mirror - before mirror - after Foam Gun! side reflection - before side reflection - after Doin Work! ( while its 95 degrees outside! ) Brilliant Glaze Finals Thanks For Looking!
Adamized Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Great job. That car looks good! Now, what does the 24V DOC thing mean? 24 Volts?
CrawlinTBSS Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 24 valve. its a DOHC v6. which means each cylinder has 2 intake and 2 exhuast valves, where as most cars have 1 of each. Helps with performance. The SHO was fords old school taurus beefed up car. Buddy will be slapping a monster turbo on it soon.
goodmanXX3 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Good job... Best looking (1994) Ford Tarus SHO I've seen in years!
1anonly Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Wow, that thing looks ready to go. Carbon fiber hood, LED tail lights, crystal line head lights. You don't see many of these around anymore.
CrawlinTBSS Posted July 19, 2011 Author Posted July 19, 2011 Thanks yal. Its in good condition. I guess its turning into his racecar soon but it was my test for him, if he likes it, ill have many clients my way from him. Im happy how it came out tho the paint is bad. There was at least 50 touchup paint spots on the car plus paint chips galore. Other then that the SHR worked wonders! I love BG as well!
6spdg37s Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 those were some cool cars ! I remember growin up my neighbor had a 97 SHO in black all tinted out ... unfortunately he OD'd on heroin
Osok Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Nice job! Personally I can't stand green cars though but hey to each his own
