BG under Buttery?

Will the BG affect the "shelf-life" of the Buttery Wax? This weekend I plan on doing a Dawn wash, Revive and touch-up hand polish followed by some Buttery. Will using the BG before the Buttery achieve greater results? Guess I could do a test panel.;)

I guess the jury is still out. I did the A/BG/A layering about 8 weeks ago and she still beads like crazy. I don't know if the solvent in the BG removes that much of the first coat of Americana and I don't know how it would even affect the top coat of Americana, unless it was still wet. I'm no rocket scientist or chemist but I believe the solvent is just a carrier for the glazing compounds.

Frankly, the experts here are leaning toward the attitude pertaining to wax as "less is more". I think I'll try BG/BW, this goround. Stay tuned.

I vote for BG/BW/Americana. Use the BW to seal in the BG and the Americana to seal in the BW :glasses:

You'll have a shine sandwich :lol::lol::lol:

BG under any wax Buttery or Americana will make the BG last longer. And BG over will give you a quick pop that won't build up like wax would. And I don't think IMHO that the BG over your wax will hurt your performance of the wax. Any wax sooner or later will have to be re-applied anyway! Hope this helps!:thumbsup:

Sorry for the confusion. Earlier posts were discussing putting BG over wax. Under is fine as it's the products intended use. It wouldn't have any effect on a coat of wax applied overtop of it. You're correct all the solvents would have evaporated prior to the waxes application.

If you apply the BG OVER a wax, then yes, I concur it would remove some of the wax. But applied under a wax, I believe the solvent is already evaporated into thin air through drying. How would it affect a top coat of any wax? :cool:

We need a divine intervention here from Adam or Dylan or Ashley or Adams crew.:bow::help:

This is what I'm thinking. Wouldn't the solvents in the BG remove the Americana too???

Somewhat, but no where near as quickly as with the Buttery.

IMO:

BG then two coats of Buttery and your ride should look great: and last around six to eight weeks. Buttery doesn't last very long and the solvents in the BG will pretty much remove the Buttery right away so all your seeing in the "pop" is the BG filling in any micro marring you didn't polish out.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

It's that little extra that makes it all worth it :drool:

In all seriousness my car has stood out amongst the crowd even when it was dirty. Adam's is some awesome stuff :patriot:

I'm a bit puzzled. If I use BG first then BW and then add another coat of BW to top it off (BG/BW/BW), it seems like it would last longer. What am I missing? HMMMM, this gives me an idea! I might try a Americana/BG/BW combo! The options are endless! I can't wait! Come Own Weekend!!!!! Got it all planned...Friday night with Adam's Video 7, Saturday Dawn wash and hand polish, Sunday Wax! I really need to get out more.:D

You'll get an enhanced shine by first layering on the BG. Then BW. Then if you really want to blow your mind, BG again. Although the top layer of BG won't last long at all.

Try different combinations and use what you like best. Just remember that NOTHING should be layered under MSW (MSS). Thats always the first product on the paint (if you decide to use it at all).
