If he's so intent on naming something Megatron, he should just get a dog. That's the great thing about pets, you can give them goofy names like that and it's not going to ruin their life. Like Dylan said, I think this is just a way for the father to try and get attention.

Child abuse IMO...children don't have the mental capacity to filter what they say or do. They will ruin that kids childhood from day 1. Remind's me of that a**hole who named his son Adolph Hitler. Hey, if your a fan of Nazi Germany, and crimes against humanity that's all you, keep it to yourself. To ruin a childs life who has no say in the matter is just plain stupid.

Ah but perhaps the real problems lies within a society that would tease a young child for having a very unique and irregular name. Instead of trying to make people follow each other and name their kids the same, boring names over and over, shouldn't we be trying to get people to be more accepting of less-than-ordinary names? After all, what would the world be like if we all lived in the exact same gray house, wore the exact same gray clothes, and all shared the exact same boring names?

I agree we should all be more accepting of everyone, but until that time comes. This dude knew what to expect, he knew exactly how society was going to react.

Of course we should, I agree 100%. But again, even the most forgiving society on this planet, wouldn't accept a child with the name of Adolph Hitler. If you know what the outcome is going to be ahead of time, why would anyone in their right mind do it anyway? Motives. Not creativity.

Bad comparison IMO. That's Communisim by definition. Your talking about getting creative, which is awesome. I'm talking about naming a kid because of other motives, and a name with a history that is sure to get people fired up.
