3PedalMINI Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Does anyone have an ETA for the new season of TGUK? im going crazy waiting for it, seems longer in between season premier's this year?:willy::willy: In other though TGUS premier's sunday evening, lets hope this season starts off strong, they left it off *OK* last year, gives it a glimmer of hope. "The Car Show" so far has been enjoyable, a little rough but it has awesome potential. I find my self chuckling and looking forward to the following week. I was shocked to hear Adam say that less the 5% of all new cars sold are stick:willy: About time models learned to work a stick:jester:
BlackCamaroSS Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Season 17 of Top Gear UK already started in the UK and I don't know if it comes on in the US yet, but the episodes for the new season are already on the internet.

Team Adam's Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 There are less than legitimate ways to watch it now if you feel inclined to seek them out.... but otherwise it will start airing here on 8/22 Of course you could always watch TGUS... its the same right?
randyfox Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Looking forward to the upcoming seasons of both. Hopefully TGUS continues to make progress...and Adam Ferrara has learned to drive.
THE Mook Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Have the newest TGUSA in my DVR along with the latest Car Show with Corolla! Gonna be a good night for TV! Mook
3PedalMINI Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 Im afraid TGUS will probably be cancelled this season, it was ok last night, different format but i think the "Car Show" will beat TGUS hands down
3PedalMINI Posted July 26, 2011 Author Posted July 26, 2011 NVM, we'll see how next week does http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2011/07/25/second-season-premiere-of-u-s-top-gear-on-history-averages-2-million-viewers/98840/
Team Adam's Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 It was already removed from my DVR schedule... season 1 was a let down.
1anonly Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I watched the TGUS last night and was very disappointed. All they did was their Texas skit, no car testing, no stig. Complete garbage! Next week looks to be more entertaining. They're driving their first cars and their dream cars. Right now the Car Show is 100x better than TGUS.
mc2hill Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 It was already removed from my DVR schedule... season 1 was a let down. Me too. I don't think I even made it through season 1. They did a few neat things, but I kept thinking "this would be even better with the 3 lads across the pond".

They did a few neat things, but I kept thinking "this would be even better with the 3 lads across the pond". Fortunately it seems two of those lads will be crossing the pond: Top Gear has consistently rated as one of BBC AMERICA’s most successful shows. Now Top Gear host Richard Hammond will star in a brand new original series called Hard Drive with Richard Hammond (wt) (6 x 60). Produced by BBC Worldwide Productions and based on the BBC format, World’s Toughest Driving Tests, it features Hammond traveling the U.S. and competing with local experts driving some of America’s toughest and most extraordinary vehicles. The executive producers for BBC Worldwide Productions are Rob Fox, Elli Hakami and Jane Tranter. In development, BBC AMERICA has a pilot with another Top Gear presenter, James May. James May's Man Lab U.S. is produced by Plum Pictures and based on May's successful British format of the same name. In the U.S. version, James comes to America and teams up with an American sidekick in order to help his transatlantic brethren rediscover and relearn the skills that define what "being a man" is all about. Executive Producers for Plum Pictures are Will Daws and Stuart Cabb. Source: http://press.bbcamerica.com/press-release.jsp?id=38206

TGUK has plenty of episodes where they dont test cars or have stars drive the cars. I think those guys seem to be enjoying there jobs a little more this season and just having fun
randyfox Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I really liked this episode of TGUS. TGUK has plenty of episodes where they dont test cars or have stars drive the cars. I think those guys seem to be enjoying there jobs a little more this season and just having fun I agree with everything you said. However, having watched a TON of TGUK this was still a little bit of a disappointment. Last nights episode (which I am watching tonight) was even worse. The first car premise was great, but the rest was weak. Adam simply cannot drive, as evidenced by ZR1 Vs 458 segment. Tanner's Stig intro was just stupid (although the skydiving Stig was unexpected and entertaining). The worst part though? The **** Pawn Stars guest appearance. Does History Channel really need to cross promote like that? Awful. They need to step their game up.
Billyt Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 top gear just ended over here only 6 shows but great all the same i wont tell you anymore but as usual plenty of caravans end there lives again
Team Adam's Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Happened to be flipping channels late yesterday evening and came across the 'first cars' episode of TGUS. Saw the part of the 458 vs the ZR1... it was PAINFULLY obvious they actually didn't race the cars. They sped footage up and just cut clips together in a frantic way to recreate a race feel... then they didn't bother to even show the lap for the 458? HUH?? Couldn't afford the insurance maybe?? Seeing just that little bit from an episode confirmed that my decision to remove this from my DVR after season 1 was the right choice.
randyfox Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 Caught a little bit of "The Car Show" after I posted last night. I enjoyed it quite a bit more than TGUS. Top Gear UK is just vastly superior, bottom line.
THE Mook Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I still haven't had the time to start watching Season 2. I did find the time to watch The Car Show episode 2...the one where they had the Viper ACR and "models" eh hem, trying to drive them.... That Ferrari they showed...........WOW! I like the show overall, and I think Corolla is forcing the funny a little bit. It's obvious to me that Salley is about classier cars, and I could do without the guy that sits between the Car Writer and Corolla. Great Show though.
mc2hill Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I like the show overall, and I think Corolla is forcing the funny a little bit. It's obvious to me that Salley is about classier cars, and I could do without the guy that sits between the Car Writer and Corolla. Great Show though. I watched the 3rd episode and it seemed better. Corolla was not forcing things, but sometimes he 'steps' on the others to get his jokes in. Don't mind Salley or Dan Neill, neither of them hurt the show. While watching I kept looking at Matt and thinking 'I have seen that big head and sideburns some where before', then I remembered where - http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/videos-get-you-laughing/10569.htm
randyfox Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 I like Dan Neill. He had his own show for a little while that I felt was fairly underrated.
