Vista Cruiser 442

Interesting car, I'm sure an Olds enthusiast could come in with some better stats. I believe the red fender wells were only on W30 models of the 442, which were very rare, but very often copied now. If that's the real deal it is one rare car. Either way it's kind of cool.

For anyone in the MA area it is often in Lancaster on Friday evenings.

I have seen it quite a few times.

I was going to take my good camera but forgot it (senior moment) so I took the picture with my phone.

When I do remember the good camera I will get a bunch of pictures with all the details of the car.

Neat car Bill.

When I was a kid I thought those were cool, for a station wagon. My dad always drove station wagons (the SUV of the time), but we only had a Ford and Chevy dealership in town, so it was Gran Torino's and Impala's for us.

:willy:I used to do construction work at the Oldsmobile factory in Lansing, MI. The 442 line was so cool! These cars just shook the floor coming off the line. W30's, Hurst Olds, you name it. Gladly, I never saw one of these abominations roll off the line. Pure ugliness and a sacriledge to a real 442. Only cool station wagons ever made were the original woodies. The musclecar demise was the start of the long decline for the US car companies. It robbed the public of any excitement to get them into dealerships. I think the death of the musclecar is one of the worst things I've witnessed in my life. It made the domestic car nothing more than utility transportation. Perfect example now is the Buick Enclave. Ugliest P.O.S. ever conceived in Detroit. I saw one of these plastic hulks yesterday in a parking lot. Bling chrome wheels and a thin piece of chrome trim above the huge plastic front bumper. Two tone paint scheme on a cheap plastic hulk. People actually buy these for 40k+?:help:

I didn't even know they made the 442 into anything other than the sedan... as unusual as it is, its very cool to see.

I've got a soft spot in my heart for fast wagons... something about them just tickles me the right way. I'd give a kidney for one of the new CTS-V wagons.

Nice Enclave pops!:lolsmack:

Guess I'll remove foot from mouth now.:help:

My passion for Detroit muscle does this to me.:burnout:

I'm all about muscle! These family trucksters DO have their place though.
