1st time with water spots.. HELP!

txredgt

Question

After washing my car and getting ready for the weekend gathering I found that I have some nice waterspots covering the freshly painted decklid and spoiler. I can't feel them with my fingernail so I am curious as to if this is a good or bad thing? I also suspect but I would like to know what caused it in the 1st place so I can avoid it next time, however my guess is that since it was fresh paint and I can't wax it that the 1 day it did rain here in TX afer I got it back from paint it etched its way on because of no wax. I plan on taking the PC with FMP on both the regular and focus pads to see if I can get them out. Any other suggestions? Thanks as always! I will snap a pic here in a little bit but its bugging me knowing its the part that I just painted and now looks horrible!

I might try the clay and vinegar trick 1st. Does that process just consist of clay and detail spray, wipe clean, then vinegar on a microfiber and wipe on/off? If not it will be on to the focus pads on a drill I'm thinking. I don't have a great setup to use my PC as I want so focus pads work great for me. Being that it is freshly painted I will be easier on it for sure.

Good point Bill, I missed that. If its fresh paint how could it have water spots that you can feel with your finger nail?

You need to go back and read this thread again young man, he said he could NOT feel them with his fingernail ;)
