Jeep Hard Top Question.

Question

I recently detailed a jeep with a hard top that is faded. I used VRT to bring it back to life and now it is streaky. It looked awesome when it was done but is now drying up. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should use to make it look good or is it even possible? In and Out spray? Thank you!

Did you try 2 coats?
I actually thought of that figuring that the finish absorbed it all. Then I was reading a Jeep forum and they mentioned waxing it because if it was painted. It doesn't appear to be a surface that can be waxed....it is a textured surface such as that of a mud flap. I'll give it a shot and if it does the same thing, I'll give it a good washing and take it's age into consideration. Other than that, she is thrilled with the results both inside and outside. It looks better than new thanks to Adam's Polishes!!!

what year Jeep? there are differences in the various model years. I don't think the textured ones from 07+ are painted, but the smoother ones are. I'm not sure what the 07+ ones are made of, but I believe the older ones were fiberglass, not the plastic that the VRT works so well on. I believe the fiberglass ones were some sort of dye process in the final production, not really a paint.

Not too sure on the year of the Jeep but I do think it is fiberglass. I think I am just going to wash it off. She is not too worried about it being faded.
