For The Detail Freaks out there???

TK427

Question

:help:So I will usually do a complete strip down and re-wax "on my daily driver" every two months depending on the weather and driving conditions but with Adams products now I'm not sure how necessary that will be!

Here is my Q::confused: How often do you guys wash your daily drivers and, what is the 'method' to your madness the majority of the time to keeping that "adamized ride looking good" in between Waxing???<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p>

Too many variables to give a one sized fits all answer. Mileage driven, weather conditions, storage, etc all play a role in how often you need to wash and/or wax.

Best advice I can give is to wash when you think its dirty... keep in mind our car wash shampoo is pH neutral so it does not degrade your wax coat like other soaps can.

Pay attention to how the water behaves on the paint at your final rinse, if it beads your wax is still working. If it goes flat then the wax is braking down or broke down and needs a refresh.

Once every six months I do the FMP-MSS-BG-APW thing. From there, I two bucket wash weekly as much as possible, with WW wipe downs in between stops when needed. I like to apply APW every six to eight weeks with BG going down about every four to six...usually two weeks before my next coat of APW.

I need help.

Your method is very similar to what I was intending on doing, only because my detail customers have to see that I'm not just your average detail guy!:pc: Ohh Yeah

I usually wash 1 or 2 times a week and dry with DS for the little exra shine. ever 4-8 weeks I put down a coat of buttery and fresh glass sealant.

Good to know in regards to the glass sealant, I was wondering if once every two mounts was about right

I wax the car every 2-3 weeks as it is kept outside in the rain and sun. I re-wax the front bumper and the area just behind the rear wheel wells just because I always have to use APC to get the debris off, even if has only been 3 days since the last wash.

Have to agree with washing when it's needed. My problem is I'll go to wash the car and the next day it rains, so almost defeats the purpose. But, if you do your correction on the paint and get it to where you like it, doing a proper wash will keep it that way for a long time. Wax once in the spring, and once in the fall before winter as I won't really have the means to do any correction over winter. MSW does last quite a while to be honest, I don't put any other coatings/wax on it (right now, need to get Americana though $$$) and my March/April waxed black Legacy still beads water. And by a DD, I mean commuting 80 miles round-trip five days a week to Boulder, so it definitely holds up! I just wash now when I get something on the finish I want to get off or when I don't see any rain in the forecast for at least a week.

That makes since, when it comes to the bumper, might be good for me to wax those a little more often...
