Help with white streaking stains!!!

So the last few cars that I have wiped down the interior /plastic and vinyl with Adams leather and interior cleaner look’s nice after the job is completed, but when any kind of water comes in contacted with the plastic/vinyl a few days later, it drys leaving a white streaking stain..

Any ideas<o:p></o:p>

maybe try cleaning it with the leather and interior cleaner again then putting some condioner on it..be my first idea

are you using too much product and not wiping it in or wiping away the access? I havent seen that happen to any I have done but I use the stuff sparingly.

 

edit actually now that i think about it did you clean the areas properly? in other words were there any kind of left over products from previous cleanings that could be mixing with the adams stuff? maybe this is causing part of the problem?

I experience this too. Hope that Adam's can improve this product over time. In the meantime I like to just hit it with a very little detail spray and wipe it down when I get those white marks from the water. Also just using a clean cloth or even just a quick wipe with a hand can remove most of the white mark (after the water has dried).

Yeah, it sounds like the 50/50 mix thing isn’t really necessary with this stuff, if you use it correctly. I could be using too much! I will also try to condition these cars as well..

I tryed the DS on my wifes car and did make the white stains go away! PLus it leaves a nice smell..<br><br>

 

I just don't want this to happen to a customers car:(

My opinion is that where it ran is actually clean. I don't think your interior is as clean as you think. Give it a GOOD cleaning, a good wipedown, and then treat everything with conditioner. IF you get streaking with the conditioner that means that your leather/whatever is soaking up the product at different rates (some areas are dryer than others) and need a second or maybe even a third application to get it all looking even and clean. Sometimes the first couple applications will use a good amount of product, but once you get it all evened out you'll find you use a lot less with great results.

I got the same issue and I did a good interior cleaning before adding the leather conditioner. I've never had this issue with other products I've used in the past. This has happen to me the last few times I've cleaned my interior. I usually wipe down any access after apply the conditioner. Usually interior cleaner cleans the white spots up.

The door panels it takes it easier, for some reason it likes the doors and pillars. The center console, I dread, because it's a nightmare to get even. It's kind of a cheap plastic. </o:p>

Yep, I read it correctly. If he was getting that on unconditioned, just cleaned rubber/vinyl that's the only think I could think of is that he didn't wipe off all of the cleaner. It says to wipe down with a Damp rag when done to remove residual in the instuctions.

 

I just put some tips and my experience with the conditioner in for an added bonus:)

Don't feel that way, if we all read the instructions then 80% of the threads on here would be useless:lolsmack:. Glad it worked out for you. I was going to go actually do a door panel and see if it reacted the same way, but no need to now.

I've tried pretty much everything mentioned in this thread.... and then some. Nothing helps, though diluting it does help somewhat but doesn't eliminate the issue entirely.

 

Truth be told, I no longer apply Adam's L&IC to ANY plastic interior parts on my rides. I ONLY use it on my leather seats and leather accents. I've never had a problem of the sort on leather finishes.

 

I've, sadly, resorted to a non-Adam's product to resolve the issue on interior plastics.

Did another car today, and added the damp rag step to it, and then tested one of the panel...Works like a charm..
