Flex Polisher vs. Porter Cable Machine Polisher

jerseypeach

Question

I have read the write ups here, but I am still a little confused as to what machine polisher I should get. I thought that since the Flex is faster and still osolated it would give a better shine. My question is, is it for applying wax on a regualr basis or is it just for corrections???

The Flex will give faster results. Both will produce excellent results.

If you have never used either before, my suggestion would be to start with the PC. It is a bit more user friendly.

What are you trying to accomplish? Scratch, swirl removal?

We offer a Sealant to be applied my machine, but that is only on the Porter Cable.

Sure, the Flex will yield faster results, but there are some other factors like technique and experience with a polisher that come in to play...

Are you going after correcting paint or just looking to get a great polish on it? What is your experience with machine polishers?

Not necessarily. While it is faster, the speed has really very little to do with the quality of the finish. Simply put the Flex will allow you to achieve more paint correction in less time. Its still absolutely possible to get perfection with the PC, it will just take more time and effort to get the same results as it would with the Flex.

So long as you technique with either machine is correct you should be able to achieve the same great shine - just comes down to how long it will take you to get there.

The Flex won't give a better shine, but will let you get to that shine faster, since it will remove the clear quicker than a PC. If speed is needed, then the Flex is better. However, the Flex is not recommended for applying MSS, and cannot use the 4" pads.

Well my car is black, and it does have some swirls and scratches. I have seen a huge difference in the paint after hand waxing with Adams products but thought a machine would give me a better shine than I could ever get by hand waxing.

The PC can remove the swirls on the black paint, and will put down a great shine. It is gentle and safe, yet gets the job done. After you see the improvement you can get with a PC versus hand polishing, you will really come to enjoy the PC. It can do things that you just can't do by hand, like remove swirls.

If you are interested in the Machine Super Sealant, the PC is the way it is applied, with a very soft gray pad. It puts the sealant on very thin, and that sealant really lasts.

With black paint, you will be able to get stunning results with the PC and Adam's products.
