Fire Hose nozzle

LQ9SS

Question

I was rather disapointed when I tried out the fire hose nozzel. Mine seems to not twist/operate smoothly and it won't hold the position in which I set it at. It always wants to automaticaly twist back to the strong spray position. I can't get it to stay on a medium fan spray position.

Any thoughts/opinions?

Thanks.

That is my only complaint about mine as well...it will not stay in the same position unless you handle it really carefully at all times which just isnt feasible. Everything else about it is awesome though!

Yeah, but that's a pretty big part of the operation of the nozzle. I read some reviews on dealer pages that say the same thing. Send it back, provide your feedback to the Adams gang and I'm sure they will address it. Just like the lug nut brush issue that was resolved a few months ago, they might not even know here is an issue until we say something. At least they can determine if it's an isolated issue, or the manufacturer is failing to live up to standards.

I don't have this issue at all with mine.

Mine doesn't do this ether. If I let it drop on the ground it sometimes turns the nozzle and changes the spray.

Same here. Let them know if you're not happy, especially if it doesn't perform like it should.

Mine is also tighter than looser.

If you are concerned that much please call the 800 number.

Everyone needs to keep in mind the amount of money invested in your end of hose accessories! If you are spending upward of $100...NEVER let them drop on the ground! Yikes!

Basically I set the spray how I like it and proceed to pre-rinse the wheels, ...then I sit it down to wash the wheels. When I pick it back up to rinse the wheels its hardly ever in the same position.

I am using the whole enchalada, shut off valve, etc...

My scenario is exactly the same!

BTW,I also have the whole Adams set-up as well.

My problem precisely.... on both of mine.

Neither one of mine are loose or easy to turn. They feel exactly the same in every way.

They just refuse to hold "memory" once shutdown and re-opened.

The only thing I thought of was this [in my instance] : Since the water pressure coming into the nozzle can vary - which effects the output pressure of the nozzle - then the stream pattern will alter. The stream pattern [memory] will only remain the same if the exact pressure is coming in/out of the nozzle after opening, and following the previous shutdown.... if you get my drift.

Seeing as though I have a well/well water, the water pressure from my faucets varies from minute to minute.... literally.

That's the only thing I could pin-point it to.

But like I said early: I'm not too concerned, as the quality of the goods' far outweigh its [trivial] downfall.

Yup,my water pattern is never the same.

i don't have the nozzle yet, but...

is it possible, if you tighten the flat-head screw on the face of the nozzle, it will tighten the adjustment up? i know the previous version of the nozzle had an issue with this screw loosening and even shooting off.

What I'm trying to understand is how its getting twisted then... the flow can't be changed without the nozzle being twisted one way or the other, so are your guys nozzles loose or really easy to turn?

My nozzle is tight. I can have it in the fan position and as I am rinsing my truck within 30 seconds, the flow comming out of the nozzle is the the "strong" position without even touching it. It did this the very first time I used it, and it hasn't been dropped.

I don't want this thread to sound like I am bashing the nozzle, but more of constructive criticism as I know you guys will make it right

As stupid as this may sound, where are you holding the nozzle when using it? Are you holding it back around the connection to the hose, or farther up toward the end of the nozzle? I've noticed that if I'm not holding it back toward the connection with the hose, that as you move the hose around and it stretches, flexes, etc, etc, the hose will have a tendency to rotate causing the back portion of the nozzle to rotate as you hold the other end in your hand. If you're holding the nozzle closer to the end, the adjustment will change because the hose is rotating the other end of the nozzle. Make sense?
