Just thought I would check to see who on the forum might be going to SEMA this year?

Adam, Dylan and I are all going!

As always, I will make sure I take a ton of photos!

I thought you had to be a manufacturer to get in...

Not necessarily a manufacturer but you do need to be in the aftermarket industry.

All it really takes is a buddy who works in something remotely automotive related to register you or a business card that can be loosely misconstrued as related to anything automotive. They're really not too thorough on the background checks.

I used to go to Sema every single year religiously.

I haven't gone though in the last couple years, I might try and make it there this time.

What's actually pretty funny, is some of the baddest cars are usually parked right outside the front of the show where you don't even need a pass.

SEMA is a crazy event. The show is fun and it's pretty easy to get in. It's the private late night parties that are tough to get in. I have a few friends who race for Mazda and GM, so we walked right in. It was the first time I have eaten dinner with naked women swimming in fish bowls at my table in a restaurant (I don't eat at stripclubs)! Drinks start at $20, so it pays to have connections!

You guys'll have a blast as usual!

Unfortunately I can't make it this year, but I was there last year for the first time. If you like cars you have to be there!! It's a great event to wander around and see new products and show cars and just some wild stuff. Vegas is also a fun town to be in with lots to see and do.

If you have a chance to go do it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Tracy and I have always celebrated our wedding anniversary based on the SEMA show. It was 1991 when we got married in Las Vegas at midnight after spending all day at the show (it was planned, and I'm proud to say we packed the Little White Wedding Chapel). Then in 2006 we renewed our vows in Vegas, along with 7 other couples, all in Corvettes, at the drive thru wedding chapel (again on purpose). I guess we're going this year . Hope to see you all there.

Bruce
