looking for a new car

Recommended Posts

alright so for the past year or so I have been in the market for a new car. I have had many BAD BAD experiences with shady people so I layed off the hunt for a while and drove the monte carlo. Now i am back to looking to buy this winter or spring time. I am looking to spend 8-10K.

I have looked at

-WRX

-Cobalt SS

-mazda 3

-civic SI

I need a car that will go through a winter in Iowa and still look sharp and a little sporty. Throw your suggestions at me and give me more ideas! I always love some american muscle but It wont troop through winter..thoughts everyone?

How about an Audi TT?

8-10K? That'd have to be a high mileage car...

Suburu's are great in the snow and keep their resale pretty well.

Cobalts don't have good residual.

Evo's aren't bad either.

been looking at evos and WRX a lot, might store some money away over winter and bump my budget up to 12 or 13K

Go with the Subaru man!!! You will own the streets in the winter!

My neighbor has one and loves it, he keeps pushing me to go and drive his or go to the dealership. I'm afraid if I do I won't love my MINI anymore lol

Granted he has an STI and has 430hp to the wheels with just a chip, intake, exhaust and something else I can't remember right now.

Audi would be awesome, but it would be near impossible to find one in good shape with decent miles. Audi TT's 2001-2006 are notorious for being money pits after 70k+ miles. Stay away :)

Josh any nice subies up your way? around the 02-04 years..ave really been on the hunt for a new car and I have been unable to find anything decent

Man there was just a WRX subbie on cars.com with an STi big turbo swap, like an 05 blue for under 20k, it looked amazing. Might still be on there, think is was an 05. They are on there alot, and you can pay less than a normal STi and pretty much have one.

I came into the dealer the other day and talked to him, Im not a fan of the newer model but wanted to just shoot it with the guy. They have it listed for 22, told him i would take it for 18 and they said thatd be fine, and that was after 15 minutes of talking.

Within the next month he said they get an influx of them so I guess just keep you look out, I will too as the dealers are close to my apartment.
