question about washing and using my pads

smokemeister25

Question

i'm fairly new to using my new PC. i spray my pads with APC and then wash them. after i use them each time and put them on a grid guard and set them in the sun by a window. they take a day or two to dry even when i wring them out really well. problem is if i want to continue buffin the next day they're not dry yet. was wondering if it's ok to use them damp or if i really don't need to wash them each time? i give em a spray of detailer before i put the compounds on when i use em to moisten them a little anyway. i would think if i don't wash em and the compounds dry then they become more like sandpaper than polish pads?

was lookin at suggestions on how to use my pads without waiting for a full day or two for them to dry after i wash em out. maybe i just need to buy another set of pads and alternate?

thanks for suggestions

les AKA buffer with a damp pad....:(

FOR OVERNIGHT BREAKS ONLY: You can seal them in a ziploc overnight, then use them again the next day (kind of like a paint roller). Do NOT do this for more than a few hours, or they will fall apart.

Hey, don't you know someone that has a set of pads you could borrow? :jester:

not thats within a thousand miles of me....

next time a sale comes around i'll order another set. they seem like very high quality pads. i've used them a few times and when i wash em they come out like new. my problem is that by having to do everything in a driveway instead of a garage i have a short window of time in the last afternoon before it gets dark and the dew comes down that i can get anything done. so i kinda have to break sessions up into wash and claybar and then working on a section at a time. so i try to do the whole 3 step process and then wash em and even if i set them out in the sun they still don't dry within one day. we all probably have the same problem....

was wondering about puttin em in the microwave to dry em fast if i need to???
