J Tegeler Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 nice idea by Ford, but I will still choose to park way away from anyone
LDM Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Great, now Ford is encouraging people to carelessly throw their doors open. This might protect the door edge but I don't see it doing much for the guy next to him who gets his door dented in.
Team Adam's Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Thats not a "door edge protector"... its a "careless @$$hole damage preventer"
Vincenzo Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 All these little gadgets and toys they stick in these cars guarantee that in 30 years, when someone wants to restore one, they will not be able to. Too many little bits and pieces. Quite clever really, no one will be able to just re-build an old car, they will be forced to get a new one.
MichiganSRT8 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 agreed with everyone, i still dont wanna be the guy next to them they are throwing their door into, my car might be getting parked further away now if anything haha
Chewy Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Thats not a "door edge protector"... its a "careless @$$hole damage preventer" Yep! I think it's PERFECT! We can't take the a-hole out of the person, but we can cover them with bubble wrap to make it less painful for the rest of us!:rockon:
Chris@Adams Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 nice idea by Ford, but I will still choose to park way away from anyone Me too!
crowvet Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Thats not a "door edge protector"... its a "careless @$$hole damage preventer" I actually think it is a careless a$$hole enabler. People will actually become less careful than they are now, because they are stupid enough to think this will stop damage.
Marylander Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I actually think it is a careless a$$hole enabler. People will actually become less careful than they are now, because they are stupid enough to think this will stop damage. I don't know -- I think that there are two types of people in the world right now -- those that care not to ding other people's cars and those that don't. A little gadget like this could at least protect a few of us from accidental, careless dings. I doubt having this on the car would make anyone more lazy -- that crowd is already set in it's ways. People who have respect and care for other's cars are still going to have it and act appropriately. But the best protection is still parking well away from anyone.
02Xtreme07ss Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Looks like it's a win-win for the careless car owner...but I don't want anything or anyone rubbing up against any of my vehicles.
