StormChaser Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I am here at work and this just hit the news. I don't have access to news sites but I wanted to say my thoughts and prayers are with those who were affected by this accident. I do have a friend who lives in the bldg that was hit. He is ok, unknown if his dogs survived. Rumor is there was a student pilot and instructor in the jet. They were both able to eject out safely.
JBlack151 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Just saw the breaking news on MSNBC.com. Hopefully everyone is alright.
70'sChevyGirl Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Thats terrible. I haven't seen any news today but I am sure it will be on our evening news broadcast.

JBlack151 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Just read they have treated 6 people at the nearby hospital including the 2 pilots. All with minor injuries and so far no fatalities but the search continues.
ArablueRS3 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 My wife and i were going to move into a house about two blocks over. After seeing the flight path...nope. Good thing know one was killed.
Doug123 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Amazing shot, Brandy. Does the place smell like jet fuel (kerosene)?
StormChaser Posted April 6, 2012 Author Posted April 6, 2012 Amazing shot, Brandy. Does the place smell like jet fuel (kerosene)? I can't take credit for the picture. This was taken by my roommate's friend who lives in the complex. I did find out that his apt was missed by 50 yards! The pilots were amazing. They had trouble right from the start. The pilot was able to dump the fuel before the crash. Such a SHORT amount of time between taking off versus the crash site. Quick reactions from the pilot saved a LOT of lives.
LDM Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 That's pretty close to the DoubleTree I used to spend a lot of time at. I always heard the Hornets flying around.
