Scoobah St3ve
I've had mine for about two years and it leaks oil (or it looks like it) when I leave it on its side. I thought it was normal. Not a ton but about a dime size.
Team Adam's
The internals are greased at the factory... if its stored on its side some of this can get out. Nothing to be concerned about.
07RS4
Mark...I did a little research for you. Check out this page...here is a great 7424XP schematic. Porter Cable 7424XP Parts List and Diagram - (Type 1) : eReplacementParts.com It looks like #12 houses you gears, and should be the only place where you're gear oil (#801) could have came from. Everything before that is electrical and the motor area. You could remove the black cover and the top cap to see if you can add some oil, but I bet it's sealed and maintenance free. One of your bearings, either on the top or the bottom just settled a bit and leaked out some of the gear oil. To me it would affect the longjevity if this continues, but it could also be completely normal. Give Porter Cable a call and ask them. THE Mook
I was gonna suggest you made it cry by working it so hard. :shrugs: Try not to store it on it's side going forward.
