savi01
Well, I knew it was coming but now it's official. GM is going to end the Chevy Avalanche after the 2013 model year. I have never really been so hurt when it comes to vehicles. When I got my driving permit, my family had a 2002 Avalanche; I LOVED that thing. Learned to drive in it, took my drivers license test in it, and just drove it around everywhere. Then we traded it in for a 2008 Avalanche, and that's when my detailing addiction kicked in. Even though I've only been driving for about 5 years, and even just got a new Mercedes C300, I will always love my Avalanche more than any other car/truck. I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about; that special feeling we have towards certain cars. Just wanted to share this with other people and get it off my chest. If anyone will understand what news of this kind mean, it'll be the people on this forum. If only I had the money, I'd definitely buy the last model and keep it clean and safe forever. Marylander
That's too bad. Just the other day I was thinking to myself, "if I needed big truck, that's what i'd get."
JBlack151
I did not care for the first series of Avalanche's but fell in love with the current models (like Dylan's old one). That's too bad to hear since I always think about possibly getting one instead of a Silverado.
LDM
Almost as sad as when GM killed Pontiac, taking the G8 along with it...
Chewy
Not overly surprising though. Not one of the hottest sellin vehicles. Sent from the past using special algorithms and data nodes!
DTrem13
I read an article in a Motor Trend magazine a year or so ago saying that Chevy was supposed to take over the production of the G8? Hmm... billawd
That's sad although I did see a new impala police car looks almost identical to the g8

LDM
Haha, sorry for thread jacking this from the Avalanche to the G8. Despite all the rumors about Chevy bringing back the Holden, I won't believe it until I see it. The Caprice PPV is nearly identical to the G8 because it's based on the Holden Caprice, the long-wheelbase version of the Commodore that the G8 was based on. savi01
No worries on the G8 topic. I was really hoping to buy my own Avalanche after college (current one is technically my parents), but now I guess not
07RS4
In it's stock form, I always thought the Avalanche was kind of fugly looking. It just looks odd. This is the version I always think of....
JPEGXP
We got notice of this today here at the Caddy dealership!
savi01
It might have looked odd, but was honestly built tough. The 02 we had went through A LOT and still kept on going, and IMO they are the smoothest driving trucks. I've driven the Silverado's, F150's, Rams, etc but none were as good. MAYBEN
I like the newer body, but I'm biased since I love the Tahoes!
