When you're washing your car. Make sure ALL your windows or sunroof are FULLY closed. :lolsmack:

Yesterday I just got home from picking up the car from the dealer about 45 minutes away, and was enjoying the warm weather so I had my sunroof all the way open and my back windows open about an inch to get rid of most of the wind noise. I got home and closed the sunroof, but forgot to shut my back windows. I got out all my car wash stuff right away to wash the car because it was disgusting, and half way through my decent looking neighbor comes over to chat :D Needless to say, there was a little bit of soap and water all over my back seat of my car because I wasn't paying 100% attention to the car. :jester: Luckily it wasn't too hard to clean up.

Has this happened to anyone before?

This serious issue has been covered on the forum before but here is a reminder that it could be worse:)

Now that I think about it the only reason to do this is if you are in the same situation that Vincent and Jules are in in Pulp Fiction

This could have gone a different way.

Sad to say "yes." I had just bought the wife a brand new Caddy about five years ago. More buttons and levers that what's on the Space Shuttle.

Back then I was not aware just how bad a drive through car wash scratched the paint.

I pay, drive up, they clean the tires AND just as the car started to go forward through the first part of the wash, it was then that I decided I wanted to listen to some music. Gobs and gobs of buttons. Hit one, the sun roof came open. While "fighting" to take back control I hit the passengers window.

Came out the end of the wash and this jerk walked up to me and said "Sir, if you wanted an interior detail we could have done that for you."

The complete interior of the car was full of soap, wax and rinse water. I looked like somebody that just crawled out of a snow bank.

Reminds me of the detail write up of a car's interior covered in mold. Have you seen that? It's horrible

Nope, haven't seen it but would really like to.
