Premium Vinyl

I'm always interested in cool ways to make a car (not necessarily mine!) look different, especially if it's temporary and can be "undone" relatively easy if you don't like it or get tired of it after a while.

But it has to look good. Quality wise and in term of it looking like it belongs.

It's no secret I'm a big fan of Plasti-Dip. An easy way to give your car a different look, if only just for one weekend.

Today I stumbled on this product, that was applied at a local motorsports shop to a Ferrari 430. Now tell me this doesn't look AWESOME.

It's a premium vinyl, available in this "brushed aluminum", and many other designs, such as polished/chrome, diamond plate, carbon fiber, and solid colors.

Here's the web site that offers it: Metal Vinyl Films

I really like that look on the ferrari...but I wonder what the adhesive does to the paint after a while.

The adhesives should not be any worse than clear film adhesives. As long as the paint is fully cured before application, there should not be any issues while the vinyl is on nor when it is removed.

Yeah guilty as charged... ;-)

I've been musing as well about a two-tone theme on the Cobalt...

At least I did it to myself :jester:

I haven't had any complaints. Everything you need is on their website. And they have videos and stuff on YouTube to help. If you get it, go ahead and order the "kit" that comes with squeegees, applicator fluid, stuff like that. It helps out a lot
