JBlack151 Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 I just got a call from a possible customer who is looking for the following to get fully deltailed inside/out. 2009 Ford Edge 2010 Ford Mustang (Convertible) 2010 Ford F-150 I want to offer a "Multiple Car Discount" but I'm not sure how much. I was thinking in the 10-15% range off the total. Your thoughts?
mc2hill Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Your 10-15% off sounds valid to me but: How much time are you saving by doing multiple cars? Is it travel time that you would save by not having to drive to 3 different locations? Or just the fact there are 3 cars to work with solid pay?
InDepthAutoDetailing Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 What I've done in the past is not add a percentage for the larger vehicles. I normally add 20% for a full size suv but I leave that charge off if I do multiple cars.
JBlack151 Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 All 3 cars are at the same house, however the drive it a little further than normal (About 35-40 mins away). The other problem with that distance all 3 cars will be a 2 day job based on what he wants done. This is why I am debating the discount with my SS sucking the gas to get there each day.
BlueGenCoupe Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 What I normally do, if im traveling to a persons house to detail; is charge $50 extra per detail for the gas(2 day job, driving back and forth 4 times). If he doesn't want to pay that extra $50, I tell people is to leave the car with me for 2 days. If he doesn't want to do that then tell him to find someone else. The profit your going to make will most likely be cut in half just on fuel alone. Then you need to determine cost of products your using and what your times worth. What are you planning on charging him, this way we can determine a fair price for multiple vehicles.
