My neighbors think I'm crazy for washing my car as much as I do. But with me being only 19, I think people are a lot more shocked my Charger is actually mine (and not my mom or dad's car,) than how pristine I keep it. I love that feeling :burnout:

I have mentioned this in another thread though...if I am on a car or truck, LEAVE ME ALONE! I don't interrupt you eating or sleeping, and to me, detailing is just as important.

:)

I'm so mixed on this... on one hand there's nothing more important than having good neighbors, so any time spend building a friendly relationship is time well spent. But on the other hand, I swear my neighbor always comes over EXACTLY at the wrong time -- when I'm racing to get the car dried off without spots! :help::lolsmack:

I wash it outside and then pull it in to dry... Such a PITB sometimes to do it outside. My house faces East so there's sun on the driveway most of the day.

My neighbors think I'm crazy because I'm always out washing, detailing, etc., but I don't really mind and I always get the "hey come do mine when you're done", "gonna wash all the paint off" etc. Again, I don't mind cause whenever I go anywhere I always get the "dang, that car looks great..what do you use". That always gives me the chance to boast about the great products from Adams.

The "M" brand has kept my truck looking great for many years, but the first time I did a wash with Adams and just used Detail Spray, I pulled into a parking lot and a security guard looked at me and asked "Is that special paint?"

My house is the cool-aid house....

So I hear my sons friends ask him ALL the time, "Why does your dad wash the cars every weekend?" He just laughs....

The neighbors made some funny comments at first with the two buckets, the foam gun and especially the master blaster with my big fat ear muffs I wear, haha.

After I got done with the Old Man's truck last fall, everyone of his friends that came in for two weeks asked him if the truck was new. LOL, nevermind the two body changes Ford put out....it was all about how great it looked!

Seems like every time I finish with my pool rinse either one of the neighbors comes out to talk or starts cutting their grass.:help:

On Mon morning when I was doing a waterless wipe down, I got the "Didn't you just wash it yesterday?" from the neighbor.

Oh... I've already gotten the "Didn't they clean it for you at the dealer?" comment.

That was closely followed by "There goes your resale value. Those things put swirls into your paint that won't come out unless you have it repainted" from the guy referencing me using the PC to knock out some dealer swirls.

I just shake my head at those ppl, theyre not worth saving. LOL you shoulda thrown whoever said that a "microfiber towel" that came in the PC box. as junkman says "they're in the matrix"

When I drive the Tundra to work and my co-workers ride in the truck, they make sure they always give me a hard time. Once, right after a full detail, I got on them to make sure they only used the handles when they got in and out to avoid hand prints. So now when we take the truck they like to remind one another to "Just use the handles!", "Hey, use the handles please!" and "Make sure to use the handle". Jerks! :D

Alot of I did not know that Grey could look like that. Even when it is dirty it still has a big reflection. You can tell the shine is there.

Then you get can you make mine like that. If the Price is Right????? :jester:

girlfriend: "oh your gonna wash your truck? Okay talk to you in like 10 hours"

Neighbors: "That truck gets shinier shinier every time I see it"

Little brother: "That feels nice"

Mom: "wish someone would do that for my car"

Dad: "Its going to rain tomorrow, hahaha"

My mom told me this weekend that my truck looked really nice. I just said 'Thanks". It has not been washed for over 3 weeks, and it needs a round of FMP, but it does look better than 98% of other cars!

My barber always says: "Dude your paint looks wet man! I don't know how you do it"

My neighbors always say: "You care is shining! I can barely keep looking it's so bright!"

My good freinds always ask: "Can I feel the paint again? Ahhh, like a baby's behind!"

My wife says: "Good you're done. Now you can start mine!"

Some that have stuck...

"Rolling on Mirrors!"

"I didn't know you could make Silver look like that"

"You're Crazy!" (My response is similar to Sheldon Cooper's....ME: YES, they had me tested.")

"That's the coolest wheel thingy I've ever seen." (re: Turbostick)

One more comment that I won't share but meant a lot to me regarding my paint and all the blood, sweat, and bathroom breaks I have spent on it....was more than positive. :D

I loved this one:

"Your car looks so much better than the others here, but I can't put my finger on WHY."

and

"THAT was painted in your GARAGE?" (Yup, sure was.)

And for non-Corvette people, my '85 seems to get confused with "new" ones.

The guy across the street always gives me the nod when it's freshly cleaned and there's a guy down the street that details cars for a living that always gives me the look as well.

Nobody I've met can tell how much work I put into it, but I do get some nice stares when it's freshly cleaned
