Green Machine
Don't know if this belongs here but here it goes. I know Adams has no control over the shipping process. With that said tell me why sometimes I order something FedEx smart post and receive it three days later and then order something else on a different day using FedEx smart post and receive it 10 days later???? The second example is with a weekend involved but it will now be 2 weekends before I get my stuff.i will outline dates for both transactions. I hope I don't sound confusing. 1st order ordered march 5th rec'd march 8th 2nd order ordered April 13 estimated delivery date April 23 Like I said I understand nothing over weekend so that's fine. I just find that there is no consistency. Not blaming anyone just curious!
Team Adam's
Many times the duration is affected by weekends and also the fact that the last leg of the shipment is handled by the USPS. The time of day you place the orders plays a role... we do our best to get everything out the same day its ordered, but at a minimum anything ordered before noon makes it. With the recent volume of business... lets say you ordered at 2pm local time on the 13th... it missed shipping cut off so it wasn't even pulled until Monday the 16th... 3 days later. On the flip side if the order on March 5th is on a monday... if it made cut off it was on its way to you that afternoon. Even if it didn't it was moving your way on the 6th. Remember... shipments do not move or get processed on weekends.
Green Machine
I understand the weekends as stated. So if I go by first order just say march 5 and get it on the 8th shouldn't second order processed April 16 be received on the 19th? I know I have had problems with FedEx before not with Adams but in my previous line of work where time was of the essence! I guess I am just questioning the integrity and lack of consistency of FedEx . I know there are many variables involved with this business weather, flight cancellations employees that don't take pride in their work etc etc, it's just annoying to me. Dylan thanks for responding so quickly I appreciate everything you and everyone at Adams does on a daily basis! In my book the TOP American company in the world in my book! really love the products! Chuckkilo3
I always choose FedEx and get my orders within a few days. Never had any desire to use smart post since I have FedEx deliver my orders to my work place. I trust them more than I trust the post office with packages. However, where I live, both UPS and FEDEX has us on their last section for delivery. Meaning our entire neighborhood is their last delivery areas. However, if either of them might have a "light" delivery load, they often arrive early. Speaking of delivery -I was going to put this in a new post until I read this one. . . . . . . . . Dylan I want to thank you and please pass this on to the entire staff: I placed two orders just a couple of days or so ago. Got one yesterday and the other one today. And this is "always" ongoing, meaning every order I place, it seems to arrrive faster for which you will hear no complaints from me about that. What this tells me is the "entire" company really cares about their customers. Additionally, every order I get - everything is packed extremely professional. I'm just getting ready to place another order in a couple of minutes. Again, I'm extremely confident that that order too will arrive very quickly. So "Thank You," Adam, Ashley and everybody for such great service. Just a quick FYI. This order I got today. It was the Weekly Special AND I added in my "6th" wash bucket with grit guard. savi01
I too sometimes receive orders after various times. My latest order I received in about 3 days, usually takes about 5. Either way, as long as I get my stuff, I'm happy
dipolley
I am not a fan of SmartPost. The clincher with the system seems to be USPS. I ordered something from Amazon (not Adam's) and it went from San Diego to some other town in CA, to SLC where it was transferred to USPS, then Billings (really Billings???), then to Denver. Once it got to Denver, it went from one town to my local PO then to my place. I wasn't home. They didn't leave a note saying I could pick it up. I had to call them. Go ground delivery and stick with FedEx. The less people involved the better.

Not sure how FedEx's set up is. In regards to your "didn't leave a note comment" that doesn't surprise me. Do you have the community mail box set up? Where everybody on the street has a mail box in one location. The reason I ask this is I know the mail people can be real lazy and just drop a note in the box and say they made an attempt and nobody answered. Or not even bother to leave a note. Had this happen to me personally. Was home waiting for an item that I knew I had to sign for on a Saturday. Found a note in my box saying I could pick it up at the Post Office Monday. It seems as though they aren't held accountable. I can't tell you how many times I have seen packages left on a porch in plain view, and raining/snowing. I have a roll of bags and if I even think it is going to rain and can't find a dry place, in a bag it goes. Not saying UPS is perfect. But I know if a driver at UPS is not following proper methods they become a target. FedEx does a fine job, I just think as was mentioned before the weak link is the USPS. chazysoccer11
I am having the same problem, FedEx smart post anyway. Ordered the 18th and I'm not to receive until the 25th? Regular FedEx takes 3 days.... Don't think I'll be using smart post again.
Team Adam's
As has been stated many times before... you can have it faster or you can have it cheaper, but you can't have both. If you need a guaranteed delivery time go with ground or home delivery. Most anywhere in the US is 3-4 days max. If you don't need it in any particular time frame and want to save a few dollars take smartpost which can take up to 10 days.

They took away the smartpost option at one point because of our having issues with longer deliver times. Then we weren't happy when that cheaper alternative went away, so they brought it back... I totally stand behind having the option, just realize it can and will take a variable length of time longer than the more costly options. I like having options! I always get the same shipping costs for FedEx ground and FedEx SmartPost. Of course FedEx ground is faster and more reliable for me so that's what I have used from my first order until now. It would not make a lick of sense for me to choose SmartPost and pay the same rate to wait longer for my good stuff. It's hard enough waiting the 4-5 business days already. Green Machine
I only used the smart post because I did the Friday the 13 th special SVRT for 13 and then the shipping I went cheap to keep single SVRT cost down! Not complaining but just surprised with the inconsistencies of shipping! And surprised I was when I got the SVRT on Saturday the 21st. Just to let everyone know IMO I think the SVRT is Adams best product love that stuff!

NeonSRT-4
Smart post is cheaper and usually the route I take when ordering. I think it's funny that my package goes a total of 70 miles and takes a minimum of 5 days (8 days has been the longest) to get to me once it makes its way to Connecticut.
