As they say, the best laid plans....

My new PC kit arrived a week ago, ordered some items thru Jarred the local dealer and picked them up last Saturday. I think I have watched every video at least a dozen times: I'm ready to machine polish the Camaro.

Got home today and the wife's not home - sweet, the house all to my self so I pulled out the wash supplies and stripped washed the Camaro in anticipation of doing a clay, polish and wax in the morning. I'm using my new Sidekick to dry the car, looking for any trouble spots (did find three paint chips - all on edges). Camaro is looking nice and clean, pull it into the garage and get ready to clean the windows and maybe to some VRT on the trim.

Then it happens: the cell phone rings. It's the wife telling me the daughter in law is in labor at the hospital - a week early. On the 21 mile trip to the hospital I think I hit every bug for three counties. Some were the size of small buzzards. Oh well, will try again.

To Noah (8 lbs 7oz, 20 1/2 inches) - you owe Grandpa a car wash. :2thumbs:

Mom, Dad and everyone is fine.

Print a copy of this for your records, fold it up and place it into a birthday card for him as soon as he's old enough to wash the car :jester:

Congrats and glad to hear everyone is doing well.

I have a bottom drawer in a red box I use for a cart for my two year old granddaughter to put some of her toys in when we're in the garage. I can point to my wife's Suburban and ask her "who's car is that?" and Layla says "Nanny car". I point to my car and ask "who's car is that?" and she says "Papa Car!! Vrooom!"

Grandkids: 3rd generation hot rodders. I can't wait. :)

Congrats Jim. Great reason to have a dirty car.

As for the saying "the best laid plans." Everyone always forgets about the second part of that saying. Where exactly are these mice and what plans are they making? Perhaps thay can clean your car.

Congratulations on the new grandchild, but brother, that's how detailing goes. Can't tell you how many times I had to cover up the claying with buttery and get on the road...

Congrats on the new edition to the family!

Sucks about the car, and damn those bugs, but I'm sure it's all worth it!
