Delta5
Yet another newbie saying hello. My story... I had been a long-time Meguiar's fan. My father was, so I naturally was too. Wash + Claybar + Gold Class Wax + Quick Detailer Interior/Exterior was my game for years. I was pretty content with that. Did a lot of nice details over the years on my cars. But always wanted to "take it to the next level". I've known about Adam's products for a couple of years, but for whatever reason never pulled the trigger. I always had too many half-filled bottles of Meguiar's stuff hanging around, and felt like I should use them up before I get something new. Last Fall, my wife & I moved. In the move, I decided to just pitch 90% of the half-used bottles of car stuff and just start over this Spring with "good" stuff. The 10% I kept was some good (IMHO) P2S stuff that I had left over from reading too many Audi forums. From years of owning different cars & frequenting different forums, my heart was pretty much set on Zaino and/or Adam's products. Zaino got to me first (hope that doesn't = ), so I ordered their "starter" kit to get me going (Z7 wash, Z6 detailer, claybar, and two polishes Z2 & Z5). But I also needed some glass & AP cleaner too, as well as some better towels. These I ordered from Adam's. Did 5 coats of Zaino on one of my vehicles (2 Z5's, 3 Z2's) two weekends ago. It does look incredible, but was a multi-day & quite tiring project. We'll see how it holds up. But the Adams stuff really blew me away. I've never used an APC that worked so well. Even diluted at 5:1, it's still better than what I was using before. And the GC. Wow! So nice. I've been using Stoner's for a couple of years. That was good, but not like this. Just really great stuff. I was so impressed with those two products, the wonderful demo videos on the site, & the general vibe of the company, that I decided to up the ante and order both the Interior & Tire/Undercarriage kits. Spent many hours comparing what I wanted with what I needed and decided that the kits were the best way to go. Looking forward to finishing my detail work with these kits! So anyways, Hello!! Hope I can become a constructive member of the forum!

BlueGenCoupe
You won't be disappointed with the products. Are you polishing with a machine( PC, Flex, Rotary) or by hand? Ohh....Pictures of your car are MANDATORY with your first post
Delta5
Polishing by hand for the moment. The car detailing bug hasn't bit me hard enough yet to warrant purchasing a PC. It could happen though... Yeah, sorry about the no pix. Not sure I'm quite ready.... my 370Z is currently P2S'd, and my Subaru Outback is Zaino'd. Neither would be very appropriate for an Adam's forum. I guess I could show off how amazingly clear my windshield is. You won't be disappointed with the products. Z71_Denali
here's the deal with Zaino... their polishes fill in scratches/swirls, they DO NOT correct them! thats why you have to lay down a bunch of coats just to mask them enough to where they're not visible. with Adam's you are going to actually correct that damage! and it doesn't take a million passes to do so, saving you time! Marylander
Welcome! Ever hear of a little town in Central Illinois called Yorkville? I lived there briefly when I was a little kid, and all I really remember about it was watching a MASSIVE storm roll across the plains. The sky was green and the wind was crazy. Sure made an impression on my 4 year old self!
DaveVY
Welcome Delta5! Welcome! Ever hear of a little town in Central Illinois called Yorkville? I lived there briefly when I was a little kid, and all I really remember about it was watching a MASSIVE storm roll across the plains. The sky was green and the wind was crazy. Sure made an impression on my 4 year old self! I know where Yorkville is!! I lived 7 miles from Yorkville for 17 years and drove through there every day going to work. It has changed dramatically over the past 10 years.
Delta5
Thanks for the warm welcome! Welcome! Ever hear of a little town in Central Illinois called Yorkville? I lived there briefly when I was a little kid, and all I really remember about it was watching a MASSIVE storm roll across the plains. The sky was green and the wind was crazy. Sure made an impression on my 4 year old self! I've heard of Yorkville but can't say if I've ever been there... {checks google Maps}. Ahh, ok, up near Chicago. I've probably seen the exit for Yorkville but I don't think I've ever visited. I live near Springfield. Downstate. here's the deal with Zaino... their polishes fill in scratches/swirls, they DO NOT correct them! thats why you have to lay down a bunch of coats just to mask them enough to where they're not visible. with Adam's you are going to actually correct that damage! and it doesn't take a million passes to do so, saving you time! Yeah, I understand this complaint about the "Z" system. It is a very valid point made by many people in many forums. Though I would respectfully point out that the "Z" system has a couple of non-filler based tools to help correct paint, and my own experience using them has been quite positive. I won't take that any further as this isn't the place for such a discussion. Right now I'm enjoying both lines for their respective strengths for my detailing expectations. "Z" for the final gloss + paint protection, Adam's for everything else; correction, trims, tires, wheels, glass, rubber, interior, etc. Certainly, the will is strong to have an "all Adam's" garage. But for now I'm pretty happy with the results I'm getting from "Z". Once I'm out of "Z", then I will likely dig deeper into Adam's gloss+protection lines + true orbital-buffer details and take it to the next level. Not a doubt in my mind that these products are every bit as amazing as everything else from Adam's I've used.
