PC 7424XP vs SP

NIevo

Question

I am just curious as to the differences between the 7424XP and the SP? The SP seems to be a little cheaper from what I've found, but I can't really tell the differences? I am new at this and want to make sure to get the right machine the first time around.

They're the exact same machine... the different part designations from Delta/Porter Cable are for what accessories they come packaged with. The XP comes setup for car polishing, the SP's come setup for sanding. Typically they include sand paper, a different backing plate, etc.

In the end what you're interested in is the machine itself so the part numbers don't matter much.

One thing to consider, before you shop purely on price, is that the machine if purchased thru us is warranteed for life, not just the standard 90 days labor/1 year parts warranty you get from the manufacture. The PC is one of the most durable/reliable tools on the market, but it would suck to save a few shuckles up front and regret it later if you happen to have something go wrong and end up buying a new machine again.

No link needed... its sold at most home depot/lowes stores, usually around $120... usually they don't stock the XP, only the SP. Also not sure if it comes with the correct counterweight... 5 or 6" will suffice, but I've never bothered to see which it includes.

Lol....if I posted the link to you what good would that do me ;-)

I've spent so much money on Adam's products since getting my new car that I have to try and save money somewhere!

Go with the Adam's lifetime warranty, in the end the slight price difference's you may find is WELL worth it. It seems the spindle is a weakpoint if you can call it that on this machine. There has been numerous cases where it has failed on people....so I would have the sense of security knowing that Adam's will take care of you if anything happens, for life.
