Hi guys its the newbie again with horrible news and a concern i was egged and i just relized it mite be worsened by polishing over the circular shaped chips caused by the egg shell because the little ****s that did it did it on the coldest night possible ........ the worse part is i have a 3 stage white paint and the three seperate egg marks are on 3! diffrent ! panels! 1 on the rear driverside door one on the same side but the pillar and the last one same side on the corner of my bumper...all caused chips about 20 seperate chips varying from to the metal and just chipping the clear off what should i do !!!!!!:help::help:

insurance is your best bet, had a few friends with the same and insurance worked wonders. Got to have input where and how it was fixed as well. check that out soon as you can.

Horrible. I had an egg thrown on my car also. The damage is still there and It still Pisses me off every time I see it. There should be a rule. If anyone eggs someones car and does not pay to fix the damage the person who was egged should be allowed to throw an egg at every car the original thrower ever owns.

Comprehensive on insurance ( usually small or no deductable).File claim and let a pro handle. If not fixed to your satisfaction let insurance resolve! Save youself alot of greif and time.

 

If insurance recommends shop use them. Can be great advantage if repair not done correctly.

 

Insurance company cannot raise your rates for this.

 

 

By the way, interesting auto insurance suggestion.............If you carry uninsured motorist insurance make sure the uninsured motorist coverage is the same amount as yours. In example If you carry $xxx,xxx in liability and medical insurance your uninsured motorist may actually only be the minimum for your state. To increase it is a minimal amount. It would be a big surprise to pay for $xxx,xxx insurance only to have an uninsured motorist accident only cover $x

Good suggestion, however there are some places where it doesn't make sense to get Uninsured Motorist at all (looking at you Florida) and other situations where it makes sense for some people to get lower than BI limits. Add in stacking coverage...oh forget it, there isn't one solution.

Uninsured motorist property damage is not offered in every state. Florida is one of them.

Uninsured motorist pd would not cover this type of claim.

It's a comp claim all day long - vandalism.

 

The statement advising insurance cannot surcharge for a comprehensive claim is incorrect.

Insurance carriers usually don't but there are a lot of times it happens:

 

1) customer has an excessive amount of claims during their policy period.

2) intentional act....ie you see the road is flooded but you drive thru anyway causing damage to your vehicle.

 

Just wanted to make sure the correct info is provided.
