Hi everyone, my name is lloyd. Im 29 and from Nj. Looking for some help as im going to be detailing my car on Sat for a show on Sunday. Ive done the normal wash, dry then wax before and that is it. Ive never gotton into really detailing my ride. But lately ive been reading and i am looking forward to learning, and trying. Im gunna be waxing/polishing by hand as i dont have an electric polisher yet. Im also going to be using a hose with a foam gun i picked up, again no pressure washer yet, as im new to this. I have some drying and microfiber towels and microfiber wash mit from an auto store ( hope thats ok ). Gunna be using meguires shampoo to wash it.

As for the waxes/polishes/clay bar and what it will be applied with... I purchased these 2 adams kits below.

Adam's Premium Hand Polish & Car Wax Kit

Adam's Premium Shine Detail Kit

Little bit about the car, BMW E46 M3 Alpine WHITE/Imola Red 43000 miles. Garaged a large part of its life including now. Im second owner. I definatly see some swirl marks as this is why i have been reading and looking into making them disappear. Few pics below.

So im wondering if my order of execution is correct..please if im wrong or missing anything please correct and or add.

1. Wash car using dawn to remove all older polishes/waxes

2. Dry using microfiber towel

3. Claybar using adams clay and detail pray, dry every section as each section is comepleted, until entire car is finished.

4. Rewash using meguers wash soap

5. Dry using microfiber towel.

6. Use adams swirl and haze remover, applied with same color applicator pad provided.

7. Remove with microfiber towel.

8. Use Adams revive polish, applied with same color applicator pad

9. Remove with microfiber towel

10. Use adams Brilliant Glaze applied with adams pad provided in kit

11. Remove with microfiber towel.

12. Use adams Americana Wax, apply with pad provided in kit.

13. Remove with microfiber towel

14. Sit back with a cold *** beer and admire my work ( hopefully ).

Sorry for the long post, just wanted to get some help, so wanted to give you a little rundown on things. Thanks again everyone. And PLEASE correct anythig if wrong or add something if im missing it.

Skip step #2, no need to dry if your about to clay (unless your going to be out in the sun).

Also, no need to dry after claying if you plan on washing again. And honestly, unless your pulling off some serious contamination, the wash after claying may not be necessary either.

Well so far I have saved you tons of time, lol.

The rest of it looks good, the only other thing you could do is skip the wipedown between polishes, but thats just your preference.

Good luck and post pics!

On step 3 you don't want to dry off each section.

Also, when it comes to hand polishing, don't expect the swirls to disappear, but you should see a difference in the shine.

Happy detailing!

Yes, thats correct, use the water along with detail spray as lubricant for the claybar. Again, this method only works in the shade, preferably in a garage. No problem...
