Team Adam's Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Awesome man! I work in the fitness industry and it always makes me happy to see transformations like this.
Kustom_FX Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 James that's amazing and inspirational! I too have has a life change and I hope my results mirror yours! I was 325lbs at Christmas I decided to do something different on advice of a friend. As of today I am down to 260lbs and have no intention of stopping either! Keep it going man!
02Xtreme07ss Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Wow man. Congratulations on your transformation. Truly amazing.
GaryW Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 D**N impressive. Dont know you but proud of you to do that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is really great.. Should serve as inspiration for others.
DTrem13 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 That is amazing!!! You should definitely be proud of that accomplishment, sir. That is something to be proud of forever. Congrats on your new self!
Z71_Denali Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 thats awesome! just the inspiration i need right now! i was 270 when i graduated college in 09. a year later i got up to 285, then dropped 10 lbs before i got married. 6 months later i was creeping on 300 around thanksgiving 2010. when my wife saw what the scale said she forced me to see a nutritionist. i ate Jenny Craig for a solid year and worked out here and there along the way losing about 50 lbs by thanksgiving 2011. since then i was able to maintain 250-255 through the holidays. this new year came along and i started to drift off a little towards 260. the past couple weeks i've started working out harder than before while still eating a low carb diet; we have a beach vacation in 6 weeks and i want to be lower than i've been since freshman year of college. i've always been a big guy like you, although the largest clothes i ever wore was 2XL and 44 pants. most of my weight is in my legs; i played football in HS and my first year of college as a lineman and punter. bad eating habits from that got outta control when i stopped working out when i quit football. thanks for the motivation!
Z71_Denali Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 so was P90X worth it? i've been considering doing that when i have the space in our new home in a couple months.
THE Mook Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Meeting James in person the first time, back in 09, then flying him up and making a road trip with him 18 months later...I was amazed. I barely recognized him at the Airport picking him up. I am very proud of my friend for his courageous accomplishments, and his continued success with his life change. Mook
THE Mook Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 so was P90X worth it? i've been considering doing that when i have the space in our new home in a couple months. I had surgery for a wrongfully pointed hernia a couple years back, waited 4 mos. after, started P90X. Made it thru Day 3. I still have 87 left. That was this time last year or earlier. It's awesome as is Insanity, but keep in mind, your diet needs to be changed for this as well. James can chime in better than I. He's a nutter now when it comes to this stuff!

JBlack151 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 A few years back I dropped off 75 lbs with in a 6-7 month span. I was extremely strict with my diet and did tons of cardio 3-4 times a week at the gym. I've been able to keep it off with regular excersice and only splurging on my diet every once and a while. I purchased Insanity last year to avoid making the drive to the gym in the winter months. I don't do it everyday as they say, but I use it as a great form of regular excercise. It's a great workout!
THE Mook Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 you looking to sell all your stuff for it? I would love to! However, I want to do this...now that I am more healed than I was. I need something like this to remind me that I am not Superman. James gonna laugh at the last line

James gonna laugh at the last line thats fine, i have a friend that bought it and never used it, i might convince him to give it to me before i leave town
chas Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I bought P90X and did the full 90 days with a very strict diet and I will say it transformed me. I was only 200 when I started but I lost 15 pounds and gained a ton of muscle. I played college football and P90X is by far the best workout regimen I have EVER done. I have been back in the weight room recently but plan on starting another round of P90X here in a week or so.
DemoN Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 so was P90X worth it? i've been considering doing that when i have the space in our new home in a couple months. attaching it to a proper, whole food diet....it'll straight change your life. The best thing about it is your not just going to the gym and randomly making up a workout depending on how you feel. each day has a set workout...you just bring the desire and intensity. it's based off a 6 day a week program...with weight lifting every other day. it's well worth it and if you kick *** for 90 day, the guy you see in the mirror NOW will no longer exist. 90-day-from-now-you will be stronger, fitter, leaner, and faster then you lol now i'm doing insanity....which is...well....insane lol. lots of high intensity cardio!

Are you just supplementing the P90X cardio days with insanity or is it a different mix?
Bigredmariner Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Amazing job man, I saw your story somewhere on another forum and was pretty impressed. That took some serious discipline, congrats.
