mdwatts11 Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 This. So I bought this. And did this. I think it turned out pretty good. My truck is 5 years old and the scratches there have been killing me. I didn't want to spend $200+ on some nice metal plates to go there, so this shall have to do. I don't know that it would look good on a car, but I think its acceptable for a truck. Also took some steel wool and some metal polish (don't have adams yet) to my stock exhaust pipe. It turned out good, but I can't get the soot on the end off. I'm pissed because I parked under a huge oak tree and now I have dried sap and dust all over the place. Just after some fresh brilliant glaze and americana! Thanks for looking!
Golf for Life Posted April 29, 2012 Posted April 29, 2012 The carbon on the outside of the tailpipe can be cleaned using 0000steelwool and Adams #1 metel polish followes by #2 metel polish.

wayne Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 spray some fantastic spray in the pipe, let it set for 2 min.,spray again and steel wool then scrub it good ,......if that don't work then try a courcer steel wool, and maybe use carb. cleaner for a cleaning liquid.
