BlueGenCoupe
My mother just left for vacation and I need to wash my towels. I Know how to wash my white towels but my question is, can I throw my glass towels in with my GWDTs and single soft? Also This is my washer machine...where would I put the MFR? LDM
Can we nominate this thread for "best thread title"? The thread title should be "Mom's gone, I have to do my own laundry, so I ended up giving it to grandma"

70'sChevyGirl
lol Anthony, I can't believe that Mom still washes your clothes. My step son would always take his jeans off with one leg out and the other inside out. After getting very p'd off one day while folding his clothes I told him to enter the laundry room because I had to show him something. I showed him the controls on the washer/dryer-Water level, temperature and what settings to put them on and how much laundry soap to use. He was only 12 years old at the time and to this day he washes and dries his own laundry. Enough of my ranting. I am the evil step mother. So on that note, if Grandma gets all the stains out I think you owe her a Full Detail on her car. :D
DaveVY
Not to hijack the thread, but why can't you wash all the MF towels together. I have my Adams MF towels, and then I have some bulk MF Costco towels I use for dirtier jobs. I was thinking of doing the pretreat, and just throwing them all in warm water. The cheapo towels from the warehouse and discount stores leave microfibers galore... and don't want all those other fibers in the Adam's towels. In addition to what the suggestion for keeping the black utility towels separate I also keep the glass towels separate. I don't want the glass towels picking up any loose fibers which would then end up on the glass I am trying to clean!
LDM
Then you'll know why to keep them seperated You gotta keep 'em separated. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqwlFTFvJJM]Offspring - Come Out And Play (Keep 'em Separated) - YouTube[/ame]

Because you run the chance of cross contamination. For example, I use my black utility towels on my exhaust tips, and rims, while I use my DS towels for detail spray on my paint. I wouldn't want to wash them together and chance getting crap that came off my tires onto my black towels to stick to my DS towels and chance that it doesn't wash out. Also, when you wash the black towels. They bleed like CRAZY. Especially if they're damp from being used. Trust me. I put 3 in the washer and the while 'pot' of water was black. Next time you fill up your washer, check out the water and see for yourself. Then you'll know why to keep them seperated

BlueGenCoupe
Dude, I swear by the 24 hr soak in a 5 gallon bucket...HOT water... Pull them out, wring and rinse..... Then spot treat with APC.... Wash on hot, cold rinse.... Bam, gone! Funny you said that. My grandma put them in a bucket with some bleach and hot water. They've been sitting for a few hours, I checked on them and so far they're looking pretty good. She said she will scrub them by hand in the morning and throw them in the wash. BlueGenCoupe
Mind you, I used the MFR on my GWDTs that I used today and they cleaned up nicely! I'm puzzled as to why I can't clean these single softs
BlueGenCoupe
Ok so I got my MFR last week and today I finally had a chance to use it on some towels that had some nasty stains on them from when I put spray sealant on my rims(I did one small section, saw what damage it did and switched to the utility towel). I washed them before with woolite and couldn't remove them. Heres what they looked like. Now after a wash with MFR, as per instructed on the bottle, spray on soiled area rub in with fingers or against MF towel and if a small load use 1 oz of MFR Big load 2oz. I had a small load so I used one...Here what I found after I took them out of the machine. I'm rewashing them again. This time I sprayed the soiled areas with shout, Rubbed it in with some special brush my mother has, I used some woolite and some blech. Lets see how this load turns out. Update: This^^^ helped a little bit, but the stains are pretty much still there.

egott_91
Lol. Yes, you can throw the glass towels and waterless wash towels in. However DO NOT was the utility towels with others. You would put your detergent where it says "main wash"
