Try'd out my PC today for the first time

RyanMitch

Question

Well today i had a little bit of free time so i washed my truck and tested out my PC on the tailgate of my Colorado. I am amazed after clay baring a 2ftx2ft area how much junk came off and how smooth the paint was. Then i polished my tailgate and wow I am sold on Adams products cant wait to do the whole truck!!! Sorry the pics aren't the best they were taken with my Iphone

The clay will be the most nasty on the rear, the front, and the horizontal surfaces, at least that is what I see. Also the first claying really takes off a lot of crud.

Yes, 2x2' is optimum, and don't load up with too much polish, or the correction SLOWS DOWN. (yes, that's right - that's how I started, too much polish). Just 3 pea sized drops is plenty, both the pad and the polish do part of the work. If the pad gets clogged up with polish, it takes longer to get the results.

Correct me if Im wrong but I usually start in sections ..The hood (half) than go to the next half ..than roof ..onto the front fender.. than the door.. if its 4 doors onto the next door ..rear quarter. so on and so on. Always try and do the top of the car first. This way when I do the sides ..fenders etc Im not leaning on them later when I do the hood/roof etc. This is how I was taught back in the 80s when I worked for a car dealership. Always keep it in sections top down just like washing.

I used the PC with swirl and haze, fine machine, and machine super sealent. Also clay bared it with Adams and washed and foamed with Adams car wash. The only thing I was having problems with was it seemed like it was taking for ever to do a spot, I broke it down into a few sections and the first one went fast then the others took longer till I realized I wasn't using enough polish, after that I knocked it out. Thanks everyone!!

Nice work!

It is hard to make yourself work that small area when you have a new toy to play with, but as you found out you learn the proper technique. Good luck on the reset of the truck.
