Prayers and thoughts for my Grandfather please

I'm not normally one to do this but tonight my Grandpa is fighting for his life in the hospital. He's had a very rough few weeks having suffered a heart attack, needing a pacemaker installed, then having to have a heart cath and then today suffering what the doctor believes is another heart attack partial caused by kidney failure. It seems his kidneys couldn't process the die from the heart cath.

Anyway, we were told at 4pm today it would only be a matter of hours before he was gone. The family was called in and despite the long odds he is in great spirits joking around and being my Grandpa. He has improved over the last several hours and the doctor even said he is more optimistic but things are still bad.

So I'm asking for your thoughts, prayers, or whatever it is you do. My Grandpa is a great man. Lifelong Catholic, father of 8, businessman of over 60 years, farmer, husband of 70 years, and quite the comedian. At 89 he would tell you it's selfish to ask for people to pray that he makes it another day/week/year/etc but I don't mind being selfish in asking. I love my Grandpa and this world is better with him in it.

Thanks for your time.

Jason, whatever the outcome, have joy in your Grandfather's life and take advantage of every moment you have with him. He is lucky to have the time he has to spend with his family surrounding him. I wish I could have had the same oportunity you have when my father passed.

I am sure your grandfather is happy to know he has so many people that care about him there when he needs them. My heart goes out to you and I hope that you have many more years with him.

I'm right with David in his thoughts on relationships... your Grandfather sounds awesome and my thoughts and prayers are with him, you and your family, whatever the outcome...

I don't really have much of an update other then to say thanks to every one. His blood pressure has come up some (which is what we want) so that's a good sign but he is still in very bad shape. Still up and talking though. Thanks everyone!

Oh Jason,

I am so sorry to hear about your Grandfather. You need to remember the good times you and he have had in the past and laugh about them out loud. Hold his hand and tell him how much you love him.

In July, it will be one year since my father died. Your grandfather sounds like he had a wonderful life just like my father. Everyday I think about my father and it brings a smile to my face. All the crazy things he did and all the things he would let me get away with without telling my mom. :D I have many many great memories. Before he passed I told him to send me signs that he is around. Believe it or not, there have been many things that proves to me that he is fine and that there is a wonderful life in Heaven in the afterlife.

I send this Angel to your Grandfather, to you and your family. May God Bless All of You in this very hard dilemma.
