Question about bg and Americana

Theis

Question

Just wondering since bg goes under Americana if bg doesn't have the same or atleast lengthy life time wouldn't the Americana disappear with the bg? Or does the Americana hold down and protect the bg?

You are correct if you lay down BG first the Americana help seal it in so it will last longer, however you can apply BG over top it just won't last.[/QUOTE]

how long would it last for a DD with no protection? (noob asking)

BG with nothing on top of it I would say your looking at a weeks top for a daily driver.

Brilliant Glaze is awesome stuff, but doesn't offer any protection, just shine... it "hides" imperfections such as cobwebbing and micro-scratches... basically it hides minor imperfections that could be removed with the PC or Flex. it is not a wax, or even a polish... its a glaze. (Hence the name!) I only use it over Americana, and honestly, I think using it BEFORE anything else is wasting it, as I think the application of Americana would pretty much remove the glaze as the wax was going on. Not sure of that, but in any case...I only put BG on top after everything else.

I was at a detail clinic at GPC this weekend and asked the Junkman about the rumor I have heard that BG will "dissolve" or remove Americana wax, and he told me he had never heard this and didn't believe it was true. This is good news, because I have always been blown away with the look I get with a coat of BG over Americana, but worried I was stripping the wax protection with the BG application.

Long story short, I always use BG last, AFTER Americana.
