Does Americana attract dust?

Question

I've been a long time user of Super Sealant and one of its best attributes is that it doesn't attract dust. Long ago I used a few different carnuba waxes and although the depth and shine were great it just seemed to attract heavy dust.I'm wanting to use Americana as a topper,I just 3 stepped polished my truck followed by the Super Sealant and is in perfect condition! Thank.

Wipe it down with some waterless wash or detail spray and you will be set... well minus the sunglasses you will need :glasses:

My garage queen, 01 IS300, has a coat of MSS and a coat of Americana on it, I LOVE the shine and gloss it brings out!! But as far as "attracting dust" I can't really comment..for 1-2 drives every week or 2 weeks its perfectly fine and nothing that some waterless car wash can't fix :2thumbs:

It is BY FAR my favorite paste wax I've ever used

Carnuba, on average tends to "attract" (technically hold, but you get my point) more dust than synthetic sealants... Its part of the trade off for depth of shine.

If you're looking for easy to maintain sealants will tend to be the better option.

I should clarify though... the difference is very minor. To see for your self do a half and half on your hood. You'll see the difference in dust collection is VERY minor.

If you stay on top of removal (as you should if dust concerns you) daily it really doesn't matter.

Thanks for the response. I'm gonna hit the truck this weekend with Americana ,I don't mind maintaining the shine as I wash/waterless wash every 4 days or so its that when I used carnuba before it just seemed to really attract the dust, static? I'd gladly accept some excess dust for that mile deep look, thanks again.

I find after I apply BG and Americana it attracts mosquitos...a few times after applying the good stuff, they were all over my car. I guess they like the smell too :lolsmack:

You want to see dust collection, put a coat of AQS on without a WW or DS wipe down! I can actually hear the snapping of the static buildup when removing AQS. I always do a wipe down. Even using water in a spray bottle is better than nothing. WW and DS will provide some protection though and I highly recommend using one of those two.

Yep... the chemical reaction and the process of the particles cross linking causes a charge to build up... its pretty crazy. I've heard the popping too on a dry day.

Ever tried it on fiberglass?!? Made the fillings in my teeth hurt for a week!

I was going to use it on the boat and wave runner, but perhaps I should stick to MSS...

I would advise against it.

This car's hood, front fenders, and deck lid were all fiberglass:
