NathanJax Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Short answer, YES it's true... He talks about the EV1. There's a great movie about it. Who Killed the Electric Car? (2006) - IMDb There are TONS of cars in other countries that they won't bring over to the U.S. because of "emissions"
billawd Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 My cousin lives in the uk for her job and has a focus that gets 60 plus mpg and for the government if it doesn't benefit them they won't let it be.
Captain Slow Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I seem to recall a couple of Top Gear UK episodes involving high mileage challenges in diesel powered sedans getting ridiculously high mpgs. #^&%&*^ gubmint....
Chobbs Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 This makes me angry! CLEARLY, there would be less overall emissions released when you get almost twice the mileage of the average car over here. They don't care about environment or helping out the masses. It's all about how much money they can squeeze out of us!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Marylander Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 If I stick my jetta TDI in 6th and drive gently at 55-60mph I can average 55mpg without too much trouble. So yea, it's very possible.
