NathanJax Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 So I'm rolling through BJ's Wholesale getting some groceries, and I here this guy over a loudspeaker. Think nothing of it until he starts getting a huge crowd around him. I look over and see this.... I kinda start laughing as he's wiping this hood with all kinds of crap. He says, "y'all just saw me put spray paint on this hood, now watch this!" and he wipes it away. Everybody's amazed and a couple people start asking him how much. He said a price (can't remember) and said they will never have a better shine with any other product. He hears me chuckle and ask what I use. I said, "Only the best. Adam's Products" and then walk away. About 10 minutes later I'm walking down an isle and some guy asked me what is "Adam's Products?" I gave him the website and told him about the guarantee and the amazing products and customer service.
BlueGenCoupe Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 What a clown. Who sells automotive products next to the fresh produce section?!?!
DaytonaJae Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 World class everything wax? Lol. So spray paint wipes off. Good for him. If putting random crud on a freshly applied surface then wiping it off within mere seconds is the testing methodology, any wax will do. Pam cooking spray would pass that test. Do it in the hot sun on a black hood and let the spray paint cure for a week then try and wipe it off. People/companies like this piss me off because there are innocent consumers out there that will actually believe it.
crowvet Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Dumb people, If they would have just bought the lifetime sealer wax from the dealership when they bought the car, they wouldn't need this stuff.
BlazinSS934 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Haha I did the same thing at BJ's too. I took 3 customers out to my wifes altima and I got the epic jaw drop. Haha first guy thanked me, second was like wow wanna do my Jag, and the third guy wanted me to teach him. I gave the third and first guy my numbers and told them to call me after they placed their orders lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mongosg8 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 There is always a sucker out there. Similar experience in a BJs store. I was laughing at his pitch ..than the "Pitchman" asked me what was so funny .. I told him his product. He than explained that I must be a Mothers fan. I laughed and said ..if you want a great product with results come outside and I will show you my G8 & the product I use. Would you know I had a few people ask me to see my car

Wonder how many bought into that deal. Good Job
matts88yj Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Nice job on recruiting! Now for the ultimate test (if your car is clean) is for him to pull his car next to yours and let them see for themselves. Bet you his is a dirty mess and before you know it he won't be in there again violating peoples ears and eyes with that garbage.
fdresq4 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 There is always a sucker out there. I was one of those suckers about 9 years ago with this stuff but at an auto show. Ended up giving it away. Although if I wasn't a "sucker" I would have never given ADAMS a shot when my friend turned me on to it and the rest was history!
XQIZT Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Nice work! I've seen guys pushing some product at gas stations...they walk up to you while you're willing up and start just grinding on your paint. I stood around and watched a bit just to see what happened. They'd basically make a % sign on the door with the product, wipe it around and boom, done. Wash, clay, polish and wax all in one. And it lasts 6 months at a time!! They asked what I used and after hearing "Adam's" they stopped the hard sell.
G8chick Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 If anyone walked up and started spraying crap on my car I'd prob punch them in the face lol
Doug123 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 The easy once a year car wax. (that can be touched up as needed). hahaha yeah, PAM would work as well for that spray paint demo, plus it's cheaper, I'm sure.
THE Mook Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Last fall at the Auburn Fall Collector's Auction, (where Adam's was SUPPOSED to be the EXCLUSIVE car care product), these people were there pimping their slopjuice. I thought Billy Mays passed away...whatever. I'd like to take these guys and the "Nascar" gas station geniuses, and teach them some things. Mook
Rich Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 That's why I always try to keep a couple of sample bottles of detail spray with me. People ask what I use and I tell them about Adam's, hand them a bottle of detail spray and write down the website for them and they seem very happy.

Doesn't the 4 oz bottle have the website on it already? Just saying...lol.
Team Adam's Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 HAHA... almost as bad as the guy selling the car wash brooms at costco a couple weeks ago. He said "Sir, you look like someone who loves a clean car" So I asked him if it would cause swirl marks - Via his mic system "Sir... there isn't a way to wash a car in the world that won't cause that, but our system will cause less than any other method you can find. Plus thanks to our advanced micro cell wax technology the scratches will virtually disappear when you finish washing!" I just laughed and walked away.

I have a few answers locked and loaded, I've been WAITING for this guy.
Team Adam's Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 It is good to know that I at least "Look like someone who loves a clean car"
XQIZT Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Lol....unfortunately, it's these clowns that makes it harder for us at shows to appear to be honest. I ALWAYS have a demo car, so I can simply say "Hey, this isn't our car, let's try it out and see if you like the results."
IMADreamer Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 It's possible that his stuff is better then Adam's. It's also possible that monkeys might fly out of my butt. I'll stick with Adam's.
